Scapestrato 2022 – Imperiale
Uncompromising Bolgheri, guided by nature
In the vineyard: spontaneous energy and attentive observation
Scapestrato 2022 is born from the desire to let the vineyard, the vintage, and the coastal winds speak freely, without rigid production rules. The vines grow on sandy and clay-rich soils, well-drained and mineral-laden, cultivated with natural methods: manual work, spontaneous cover crops, and low-impact treatments. Harvesting is done in stages, based on the ripeness of each variety, ensuring balanced grapes rich in territorial energy.
In the cellar: natural vinification and balance-seeking
In the cellar, fermentation is spontaneous, with no added yeasts or forced stabilization, preserving the fruit’s liveliness. The must ferments slowly, with gentle extraction and light pump-overs. Aging takes place for 10 months in used French barriques and 5 months in concrete, to preserve purity and structure. The 2022 vintage was sunny and expressive, resulting in a wine that’s vibrant and sincere, true to its artisanal, untamed soul.
Colour: bright ruby red with purple highlights.
Nose: red berries, black pepper, Mediterranean herbs, and a touch of iron.
Palate: juicy and fresh, with crisp tannins and a salty, lingering finish.

Imperiale – Bolgheri
A project rooted in territory and shaped by time
Tuscan roots, contemporary vision
In the heart of the Bolgheri appellation, Imperiale is a young winery deeply tied to the agricultural and scenic traditions of the Tuscan coast. Located in one of the most prestigious viticultural zones, surrounded by orderly rows of vines, marine breezes, and the intense sunlight reflected off the sea, this estate was born with a clear mission: to craft wines that speak the language of the land, without shortcuts or forced interventions—just time, hard work, and deep respect. Here, nature sets the rhythm, and technique follows its lead.
Vineyard work: detail, biodiversity, and marine soils
The vineyards stretch between 80 and 120 meters above sea level, on sandy, gravelly soils of marine origin, ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Farming is meticulous, artisanal, and entirely manual. Each vine is monitored throughout the year, from pruning to harvest. The approach is sustainable, in constant dialogue with the surrounding biodiversity: no herbicides, only natural fertilization, controlled irrigation, and minimal intervention. The goal is to grow healthy, concentrated grapes full of territorial character.
The winery: precision, balance, and authenticity
In the cellar, Imperiale opts for restraint and harmony. Every step—from selection to vinification—is handled with care. Fermentations take place in stainless steel with temperature control to preserve aromatic freshness. Aging occurs in French oak barriques, carefully selected each vintage to support, not dominate the wine. The result is a range of structured yet graceful wines, elegant but never fragile, reflecting the Bolgheri climate and aging beautifully over time
