Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2012 – Col di Lamo
A Brunello of rare elegance
The Brunello di Montalcino 2012 by Col di Lamo tells the story of a generous vintage that produced warm, enveloping wines with expressive character. The Sangiovese Grosso grapes come from hillside vineyards cultivated with respect for nature’s rhythms.
Vineyard philosophy
Giovanna Neri continues Col di Lamo’s sustainable vision: manual work in the vineyards, no invasive chemicals, and protection of soil health and biodiversity. Harvesting is done by hand with careful grape selection.
Approach in the cellar
Vinification follows tradition with spontaneous fermentations and long macerations to extract aromas and structure. Ageing takes place for over 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by bottle refinement for added complexity and finesse.
Tasting notes
Colour: deep garnet red with orange hues.
Nose: mature bouquet of cherry in spirit, sweet spices, leather and earthy hints.
Palate: rich, velvety, with elegant tannins and a warm, lingering finish.

Col di Lamo
A female-led winery in the heart of Montalcino
Col di Lamo is a wine estate located in the Montalcino area, Tuscany. It was born from the dream and determination of lawyer Giovanna Neri, a leading figure among women in Italian wine. The estate covers about 80 hectares, with 6 hectares dedicated to Sangiovese Grosso, cultivated with sustainable practices and deep respect for nature. The cellar itself is a creative space where art, wine and femininity blend harmoniously, from the labels to every stylistic detail.
Vineyard philosophy
In the vineyards of Col di Lamo, quality begins with meticulous care: manual pruning, strict grape selection and minimal treatments. The altitude, galestro soils and unique microclimate create healthy grapes with great aromatic depth. The goal is to produce wines that naturally express the elegance of Montalcino Sangiovese, interpreted with a distinctly feminine sensitivity.
Approach in the cellar
In the cellar, vinification combines tradition with a contemporary touch: temperature-controlled fermentations, long macerations and careful use of oak. Large Slavonian barrels and selected French barriques refine the wines slowly, enhancing structure, balance and finesse. Each bottle of Col di Lamo reflects the passion of a woman who has chosen to focus on quality, identity and the authentic soul of her land.
