A challenge at altitude
X.T. embodies the bold and contemporary spirit of Cave Mont Blanc’s Classic Method sparkling wine, crafted to express the purest essence of Europe’s highest vineyards. Grown between 1,100 and 1,200 meters, the Prié Blanc on own roots thrives on rocky slopes, exposed to cold winds and strong temperature swings that highlight its mineral and fresh character. This heroic viticulture, nurtured for generations by passionate Valdostani growers, yields healthy grapes with natural acidity—a vital element for creating a highly elegant mountain sparkling wine.
Precision winemaking
In the cellar, tradition meets innovation. The primary fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, using native yeasts carefully selected to enhance the aromatic profile of Prié Blanc. The secondary fermentation in the bottle follows the strict guidelines of the Classic Method, ensuring a slow, delicate mousse. Aging on the lees for 24 months imparts complexity, body, and a fine persistent bubble—a perfect expression of alpine verticality.
Tasting notes
Color: bright straw yellow with greenish reflections and an elegant perlage.
Aroma: a fine bouquet, mineral and fruity, with delicate notes of citrus zest and alpine white flowers.
Palate: fresh, persistent, and vertical, with a lingering citrus finish that invites another sip. An Extra-Brut Classic Method sparkling wine that captures the purity of high-altitude terroir.

Cave Mont Blanc: The Winery at the Foot of Mont Blanc
History
Founded in 1983 from the ashes of the “Association des Viticulteurs,” established thanks to the commitment of Father Don Bougeat and the collaboration of local vignerons, Cave Mont Blanc represents the revival of winemaking in the Aosta Valley at the foot of Mont Blanc. This alpine reality has succeeded in restoring once-abandoned vineyards, strengthening the centuries-old tradition of alpine villages and enhancing a unique territory made of rock, pure waters, and winter frost.
Vineyard Philosophy
The native grape variety, grown between 900 and 1,200 meters altitude on mountain terraces, thrives in heroic conditions requiring deep dedication and full respect for the morphology of the land. Cave Mont Blanc’s vineyard philosophy is based on valuing the alpine terroir, where man and nature coexist in symbiosis, highlighting aromas, nuances, and flavors that tell the poetry and identity of this land.
Winery Approach
Equipped with a technologically advanced facility, the Morgex winery produces about 140,000 bottles annually thanks to the work of about 80 members. The winery’s approach aims to preserve the integrity and uniqueness of the wine through careful vinification techniques that maintain the grape’s aromas and characteristics intact. The balance between tradition and innovation allows the wines to express the culture, tenacity, and elegance of the Aosta Valley mountains.
