Surin 2022
Philosophy in the vineyard
Surin 2022 is crafted from Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown biodynamically in the picturesque Thésée, at the heart of the Loire Valley. The vines thrive on limestone and flint soils, farmed without synthetic chemicals. Everything is done by hand, following lunar cycles, preserving biodiversity and the vitality of the living soil.
Approach in the cellar
In the cellar, Bertjan and Nicole let nature guide the process: spontaneous fermentation, no selected yeasts, no added sulphites. The wine matures in tanks and large barrels to express the fruit’s purity and the terroir’s typical minerality. Surin 2022 is a clear, uncompromising expression of Loire Sauvignon Blanc.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a bright straw-yellow colour. On the nose, you’ll find fresh citrus and white flower aromas, with delicate herbal hints. The palate is vibrant and mineral, with lively acidity and a salty finish that calls for another sip.

La Taupe: Biodynamic Winemakers in the Heart of the Loire
A story rooted in passion
La Taupe is a biodynamic estate nestled in Thésée, in the enchanting Loire Valley. Across 8.5 hectares of vibrant, living soils, Bertjan Mol and Nicole have turned a dream into reality: crafting authentic natural wines that honour the land and its rhythms. Their journey began in Amsterdam, where Bertjan — a pioneer importer of natural wines in the Netherlands with Bruutwijn — and Nicole, a strategic advisor, chose to leave the city behind to become winemakers themselves.
In 2017, they took over the historic vineyards of Bruno Allion, a renowned French winemaker and natural wine trailblazer. For five generations these soils, rich in limestone, flint and ancient riverbed sediments, have nurtured healthy vines free from chemicals.
Philosophy in the vineyard
The vineyard is farmed according to Rudolf Steiner’s biodynamic principles. Certified organic and biodynamic, La Taupe’s approach protects natural balance: no pesticides, just regenerative farming to keep the soil fertile and full of life. Every vine is tended by hand with care and respect, because healthy soils grow healthy grapes — and healthy grapes make true wines.
Approach in the cellar
In the cellar, Bertjan and Nicole follow a natural winemaking path. Fermentations are spontaneous, with no selected yeasts or additives. La Taupe wines capture the energy and purity of this special corner of the Loire, offering freshness, vitality and authentic character — now enjoyed by wine lovers all over the world.
A visit to Thésée means a warm welcome: at La Taupe, you’ll discover real wines, walk among living vines and share the joy of a genuine glass.
