Rouge Chamade 2023: Natural Red from Alsace
Vineyard Philosophy
Rouge Chamade 2023 comes from the Hausherr family’s vineyards in Eguisheim, Alsace. On just under 4 hectares, Hubert and Heidi farm with strict organic and biodynamic methods, using only handwork and draft horses to keep the soil healthy and alive. This respect for nature ensures healthy grapes that reflect the full character of their terroir.
Cellar Approach
This natural red wine is made mainly from Pinot Noir blended with old local red varieties. Fermentation is spontaneous, without selected yeasts or added sulphites. Ageing in large wooden barrels brings out pure fruit and a vibrant texture. The wine is unfiltered and unfined, remaining authentic and alive.

Hausherr Winery: Family Tradition and Natural Wines from Alsace
The History of Hausherr
The Hausherr winery is a family-run estate deeply rooted in the heart of Eguisheim, a charming village in Alsace. Spanning 3.75 hectares, this domaine stands out for its generational continuity and passion for winemaking. Hubert and Heidi Hausherr carry forward a tradition that combines love for the land with respect for ancient agricultural practices, making each bottle a genuine tribute to their native terroir.
Vineyard Philosophy
The winery’s philosophy is based on an ecological and sustainable approach that prioritizes soil and plant health. The quality of the soil is considered the true strength of their peasant farming, respected and enhanced through manual work or with the help of a draft horse. Their commitment to organic and biodynamic practices allows the vines to develop balanced growth and natural resistance to climatic and parasitic challenges. This virtuous cycle results in healthy plants producing superior quality fruit.
Cellar Approach
In the cellar, the care and respect for the fruit continue just as meticulously. Grapes are hand-harvested and pressed with a manual vertical press, a technique that preserves the integrity of the fruit. Thanks to the natural balance achieved in the vineyard, the musts require no chemical intervention or additives during vinification. Hausherr also stands out for the practice of complantation, an ancient Alsatian tradition of co-fermenting different grape varieties from the same lieu-dit to authentically express the terroir, going beyond simple varietal character. Their wines bear the name of the place of origin or the cuvée, ensuring a strong and recognizable territorial identity.
