Rienetaki 2023 – Maison Chastagnol
An authentic red wine from the Rhône Valley
Mediterranean terroir and traditional winemaking
Rienetaki 2023 is a red wine produced in France’s prestigious Rhône Valley. The terroir, influenced by a Mediterranean climate with continental nuances, allows traditional local grape varieties to thrive. While the exact vinification methods are not disclosed, the wine is crafted with a classic, respectful approach that lets the terroir shine. The focus is on natural balance, freshness and fruit expression, with gentle handling from vineyard to bottle.
Regional character and authenticity
Although not part of the official Crus, Maison Chastagnol captures the regional identity beautifully in Rienetaki. This blend is honest and precise, delivering a balanced red with subtle complexity. Smooth and approachable, it shows the winery’s commitment to crafting wines that speak of place, without excess or artifice.
Tasting profile
Bright ruby red in color, Rienetaki 2023 reveals a fruity and slightly spicy bouquet, with red berry notes and hints of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it’s light yet flavorful, with smooth tannins, refreshing acidity, and a clean, persistent finish.
Food pairing
Ideal with rich and savory dishes like herb-roasted leg of lamb, beef daube, cassoulet, or even a ratatouille with grilled sausages. The balance of freshness and fruit allows it to enhance many traditional recipes.
Serve at 16–18 °C, after 30 minutes of decanting for best aromatic expression.

Maison Chastagnol – Natural wines from the Drôme: depth and drinkability
Maison Chastagnol is the artisanal project of Jérôme Chastagnol, a winemaker with no inherited land but a clear vision: to craft wines that are authentic, expressive, and accessible, with full respect for nature, fruit, and terroir. Located in the heart of the Drôme, southern Rhône Valley, Jérôme sources organic grapes from trusted local growers.
A journey built through hands-on experience
Before starting his own label, Jérôme trained with some of France’s most respected natural winemakers: Sylvain Bock in Ardèche, Tripoz in Mâconnais, and Yvon Métras in Beaujolais. These experiences shaped his low-intervention yet precise approach, with a strong focus on letting the vineyard speak through the wine.
Troglodyte cellar and minimal-intervention winemaking
Maison Chastagnol operates from a striking troglodyte cellar, a former quarry in Saint-Restitut, shared with two other producers. Grapes are hand-harvested and partially destemmed before undergoing spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. Aging takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and clarity of fruit.
Wines of clarity, generosity, and natural elegance
Jérôme’s wines strike a fine balance between drinkability and complexity. They are clean, bright, and fruity, with delicate tannins and a naturally vibrant profile. Sulfur use is minimal and only when necessary, to respect the purity of each vintage and varietal.
