Pescatore 2023 – Montepulciano – Tomassetti Winery
Overview
Pescatore 2023 is a pure Montepulciano red wine from the Marche region, expressing the authenticity and terroir of the grape. The vines are 23 years old, planted on calcareous and clay soils that give structure, freshness, and marked minerality. Managed with organic and biodynamic practices, the grapes are hand-harvested to ensure careful selection and quality. Natural vinification and aging in stainless steel produce a fresh, fruity, and harmonious wine. Contains sulfites.
Wine history
The Pescatore project was created by brothers Andrea and Matteo Tomassetti to showcase Marche Montepulciano with a simple, respectful vinification. The 2023 harvest was hand-picked, selecting only the best clusters. The wine embodies the winery’s philosophy: tradition, territorial connection, and artisanal care in every step of production.
Vineyard philosophy
The grapes come from 23-year-old vineyards on calcareous and clay soils, with optimal sun exposure for Montepulciano. Biodynamic and natural management preserves vineyard balance, promotes biodiversity, and prevents disease without chemicals. Manual harvesting ensures only healthy, ripe grapes are used, producing a harmonious, fruity, and authentic red wine.
Winemaking approach
Pescatore 2023 follows the principles of natural winemaking and minimal intervention. Grapes undergo a 4-day maceration and spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. Aging in steel for 7 months preserves freshness, fruit, and drinkability. Clarification is natural, filtration is minimal, and SO₂ addition is controlled. Contains sulfites.
Tasting notes
Color: bright ruby red, clear and luminous, with vivid reflections.
Nose: fresh red fruits like cherry and raspberry, light spicy notes and subtle mineral hints.
Palate: fresh, harmonious, and smooth, with soft tannins, good acidity, and a persistent finish recalling fruit and minerality.
Food pairings
Ideal with light meat dishes, cold cuts, pasta with ragù, structured fish dishes, semi-aged cheeses, and traditional Marche cuisine. Also excellent as a convivial aperitif wine.

Tomassetti – Winery in Le Marche
Winery history
The story of the Tomassetti Winery is rooted in a family agricultural tradition with a deep connection to the land and the province of Ancona. Originally dedicated to producing high-quality extra virgin olive oil, the estate has long been a reference point in the Marche region. In 2015, brothers Andrea and Matteo Tomassetti, after following different training paths, decided to breathe new life into the family business, transforming it into a project that combines roots and innovation. Their choice was to continue their agricultural journey with an artisanal and sustainable vision, avoiding the use of chemicals.
Vineyard philosophy
Work in the vineyards follows a biological and environmentally respectful philosophy, aiming to maintain soil fertility and plant vitality without forcing. The Tomassetti brothers manage old vineyards of Trebbiano, Verdicchio, and Sangiovese, native varieties that strongly represent the Marche winemaking heritage. By intervening as little as possible and respecting the natural rhythms of the vine, they obtain healthy, balanced grapes capable of fully expressing the character of the territory.
Cellar approach
In the cellar, the same principles of coherence and authenticity are applied: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, vinifications that respect the characteristics of each grape variety, and minimal intervention. The goal is to produce wines that are a true expression of the vineyard and terroir, telling the story of Le Marche in all its richness and diversity. Respect for the raw material and the decision to avoid invasive practices give Tomassetti wines personality and natural authenticity.
Territory and identity
The estate’s vineyards extend over 4.5 hectares, located across the municipalities of Senigallia, Trecastelli, Corinaldo, and Terre Roverasche. This area stretches from the Colli di Jesi to Pesaro, also encompassing the production zone of Bianchello del Metauro. The winery thus represents a synthesis of belonging and identity, born from love for the land and transformed into wines that combine tradition, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
