Maranges 1er Cru Blanc La Fussière 2023
Vineyard
The Maranges 1er Cru Blanc La Fussière 2023 comes from carefully selected plots in the heart of Côte de Beaune, Saône-et-Loire. Here, vines planted on clay-limestone soils with morning sun exposure produce Chardonnay grapes of great finesse. The average vine age, between 20 and 45 years, ensures concentration and character.
Winemaking
The harvest is strictly manual to preserve the integrity of the clusters. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for 12-15 days, followed by 10 months of aging in barrels to enhance aromatic complexity while maintaining freshness and minerality. No filtration is performed before bottling to preserve the wine’s identity.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a beautiful pale golden yellow color. The bouquet releases elegant aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits, and light hints of honey and sweet spices. On the palate, it is broad, fresh, with lovely mineral tension and refined persistence. Serve at 10-13°C. Ideal with shellfish, fish in sauce, and soft cheeses.
