Marcillac Vieilles Vignes 2022
Vineyard philosophy
Marcillac Vieilles Vignes comes from Fer Servadou (Mansois) vines aged between 50 and 90 years, planted on steep slopes in the heart of Aveyron. The soils, a mix of gravelly-limestone at the top and Parmiano red soil below, give the fruit depth and complexity. Vineyard work is careful and respectful, with naturally low yields and traditional farming.
Approach in the cellar
In the cellar, the grapes undergo a 35-day maceration in steel to extract structure and aromas. Ageing follows in large old wooden vats, over 30 years old, which let the wine breathe without overpowering its character. Marcillac Vieilles Vignes is bottled two years after harvest, staying authentic and highly drinkable.

Domaine du Cros
📍 Marcillac, Aveyron, France
When Dominique (great-grandfather of Philippe, the current owner) bought Domaine du Cros in 1882, it marked the beginning of a beautiful love story between a unique terroir and a family of true enthusiasts, the Teuliers, whose ancestors were already winemakers in Aveyron.
It wasn’t until 1964 that the first bottling arrived: Lo Sang del Pais, which quickly became legendary throughout the Vallon de Marcillac.
Over the years, Domaine du Cros has grown steadily and now boasts 34 hectares of vineyards, all planted with Fer Servadou, a rare native grape variety closely related to Carménère and also known as Mansois.
Since 2006, Julien, the fifth generation of winemakers, has carried on the family tradition with a clear focus on organic and natural practices.
Aveyron, in southwestern France, is a remote and lesser-known area, but it hides gems like this Marcillac. A continental climate, terraced slopes and iron-rich red limestone soils shape this isolated region at the foot of the Massif Central, where agriculture still dominates.
Domaine du Cros exclusively produces Marcillac, with Fer Servadou as its vibrant soul.
