Introduction
Dinamico 2022 is a contemporary interpretation of Umbrian red wine, where Sagrantino meets Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This blend gives the wine an elegant yet powerful character: intense aromas, rich fruit and spice, with well-integrated tannins and a balanced structure. A wine that combines complexity with drinkability, expressing both strength and harmony.
Winemaking Philosophy
Lorenzo Mattoni works with a natural approach: no irrigation, minimal intervention, and full respect for the land’s cycles. Harvesting is manual with careful grape selection. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in cement tanks, followed by aging in large 30 hl oak barrels for 10–15 months. No fining, no filtration, and no added sulfur, to preserve purity and authenticity.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red with violet highlights. The nose reveals ripe red fruits, balsamic hints, and delicate spicy nuances. On the palate, it is powerful yet balanced: firm but smooth tannins, great freshness, and a long, persistent finish.
Pairings
Perfect with grilled red meats, roasts, game, and aged cheeses. Also excellent with rich and spicy Mediterranean dishes.

History of Lorenzo Mattoni
Lorenzo Mattoni began his winemaking journey in 2013, aiming to enhance his family vineyards in Bevagna, in the heart of Umbria. The project originated from his father, Lodovico, from whom Lorenzo inherited his passion and love for wine. The goal was to recover hectares of land to cultivate the indigenous Sagrantino grape and produce it as a dry wine, in contrast to the traditional passito style. His brother Nicola actively participates, offering valuable support in the winery.
Vineyard Philosophy
The vineyards, covering about 9 hectares, are cultivated without irrigation, fully respecting nature and the family’s agricultural traditions. The calcareous-clay soils and spur-pruned training preserve the identity of the terroir. Lorenzo, assisted by a geologist, carefully studies the soils and harvests according to the natural composition of the land, aiming for an elegant and balanced Sagrantino that maintains the characteristic tannin of the variety.
Winery Approach
In the winery, the goal is not to alter the result of nature. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled cement tanks, while red wines are aged in 30-hectoliter wooden barrels. This method enhances the fruit, aromas, and structure of the wine while preserving its authentic character.
Main Labels
The first vintage of Montefalco Sagrantino was in 2014. In 2019, “Dinamico” was introduced, a red wine based on Sagrantino with added Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. From 2023, the estate also produces Trebbiano from a few historic family vines. Each label reflects the care in the vineyard, the Bevagna terroir, and Lorenzo Mattoni’s attention to detail.
