Comandante 2024
Overview
Comandante 2024 is a red wine with strong character, combining structure, depth, and surprising drinkability in a balanced and contemporary expression. It is a wine designed to assert identity without rigidity, capable of uniting the expressive power of the grape variety with an agile and vibrant drinking dynamic. Despite its substantial body, it maintains a fresh and precise profile, making it immediately enjoyable while suggesting a remarkable potential for evolution over time. An authoritative yet never imposing red, created to accompany the present and mature gracefully with age.
The story of the wine
Comandante represents one of the most decisive and conscious interpretations of the Sete path, a wine whose name reflects the idea of guiding without forcing, leading while allowing space for the natural expression of the vintage. The 2024 release stands as a significant chapter in this vision, where the raw material was accompanied with precision, free from superstructures. It is a wine born from listening to the vineyard and respecting time, conceived to express Cesanese in an authentic, clear, and deeply territorial form.
Vineyard philosophy
In the vineyard, Comandante is the result of careful and balanced management, focused on enhancing Cesanese in its most sincere expression. The vines are tended with an artisanal approach that prioritizes fruit quality over yield. Harvesting takes place when the grapes reach a natural balance between phenolic ripeness and freshness, a key condition to preserve tension and drinkability. The vineyard is seen as a living organism to be accompanied rather than directed, allowing the wine to develop with a clear and coherent identity.
Cellar approach and grape variety
Comandante 2024 is made from 100% Cesanese grapes, vinified with eight days of skin maceration to extract structure and complexity without excess. Pressing is carried out using a hydraulic press, ensuring gentleness and precision. Fermentation and aging take place entirely in stainless steel, with a ten-month aging period on fine lees, a choice that adds depth, texture, and stability. Cellar intervention is measured and supportive, allowing varietal and territorial character to emerge naturally.
Tasting notes
Color: deep and compact red, with vibrant reflections that suggest concentration and energy.
Nose: an articulated bouquet of ripe red fruit, with clear notes of sour cherry, enriched by spicy hints of cinnamon that add complexity.
Palate: structured yet fluid, with well-integrated freshness supporting the palate and enhancing drinkability, hinting at a promising evolution over time.
Food pairings
Comandante 2024 pairs well with flavorful and structured dishes. Ideal with roasted meats, braised dishes, pasta with rich sauces, spiced preparations, and aged cheeses. A wine capable of complementing both traditional cuisine and more contemporary dishes thanks to its balance and tension.

Sete Winery
The history of the Sete project
Sete Winery was founded in 2013 in Priverno, in the heart of the Amaseno River valley, in the province of Latina, from a shared idea by Emiliano Giorgi, Arcangelo Galuppi, and Martina D’Alessio. From the very beginning, the project set itself a clear and ambitious goal: to give voice to a territory that has often remained on the margins of Italy’s wine narrative, despite its extraordinary natural strength. Here, between the Pontine Plain and Ciociaria, just a few kilometers from the Circeo National Park, the landscape is a constant balance between sea and mountains, wind and sun, humidity and light. Sete was born as a contemporary response to an ancient agricultural history, with the aim of restoring dignity and centrality to historic vineyards and local grape varieties that had long been overlooked.
Vineyard philosophy
Sete’s agricultural philosophy is based on a deep and radical respect for nature and its rhythms. The estate works approximately five hectares of vineyards divided into twelve separate parcels, many of which are planted with vines over fifty years old, true genetic heritages of the area. These vineyards are farmed according to certified organic principles, with minimal intervention and a strong focus on soil vitality. Manual work plays a central role, together with constant observation of the vineyard, considered a complex and living ecosystem. Indigenous varieties such as Ottonese (Bombino Bianco), Moscato Bianco, and Malvasia Puntinata find here an ideal environment to express character, identity, and depth.
The approach in the cellar
In the cellar, Sete follows a coherent and rigorous approach based on the idea of non-interference with what the grapes naturally express. Each parcel is vinified separately to preserve its specific traits, through spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts and without the use of additives or oenological processing aids. No technical corrections or standardizing interventions are applied: the wine follows its natural path, guided by time and internal balance. This production method results in living, dynamic wines, capable of evolving and honestly telling the story of their vintage and place of origin, without filters or masks.
Identity, territory, and vision
The Sete project is perfectly summarized by the motto “Nothing to add”, a declaration of intent that goes beyond technique and becomes a cultural vision. Wine is not conceived as a product to be constructed, but as a living food, the direct expression of healthy and conscious agriculture. Each bottle reflects the dialogue between soil, climate, and human hands, without shortcuts or compromises. Sete interprets natural wine as a tool for territorial storytelling and as an agricultural act even before an oenological one, helping to redefine the wine identity of southern Lazio with authenticity, coherence, and depth.
