Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot 2023
Vineyard
The Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot 2023 comes from one of the most prestigious climats of Côte de Beaune, famous for producing outstanding Chardonnay. The vines, aged between 30 and 55 years, thrive on mineral-rich clay-limestone soils at around 300 meters above sea level, facing east to capture the morning sun.
Winemaking
Hand harvesting ensures the grapes arrive intact at the winery. Alcoholic fermentation takes place slowly over about 15 days in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels to develop complexity, structure and balance. It is bottled without filtration or fining to preserve its authentic character.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense golden hue. The bouquet reveals complex aromas of white flowers, fresh hazelnut, ripe citrus and subtle buttery notes. On the palate, it is rich, enveloping and elegant, with vibrant minerality and a long, refined finish. Serve at 10-13°C with noble fish, shellfish or white meats in sauce.
