Cercanome 2022 – Verdicchio – Tomassetti Winery
Overview
Cercanome 2022 is a pure Verdicchio white wine from the Marche region, classified as Marche IGT Bianco. The grapes come from a one-hectare vineyard, 40 years old, planted in calcareous and clay soils that give structure, minerality, and elegance. Managed with organic and biodynamic practices, the vineyard produces grapes of high quality and balance. Natural fermentation in cement and aging on fine lees for 7 months create a fresh, harmonious, and authentic wine. Contains sulfites.
Wine history
The Cercanome project was created by brothers Andrea and Matteo Tomassetti to highlight Verdicchio, a traditional Marche variety often underestimated but capable of great complexity. The 2022 harvest was hand-picked, selecting only healthy, mature clusters, and fermented naturally in cement to preserve the varietal character. Cercanome embodies the rural tradition, the bond with the land, and the artisanal vision of the Tomassetti family, respectful of the natural rhythm of the vine and the terroir.
Vineyard philosophy
The grapes come from a one-hectare vineyard planted on calcareous and clay soils, with ideal exposure for Verdicchio. Biodynamic and organic practices maintain vineyard balance, promote biodiversity, and prevent disease naturally. The 40-year-old vines provide an ideal balance between vigor and concentrated fruit, rich in aromas and minerals. Manual harvesting ensures only the best clusters are selected, producing a complex, harmonious, and terroir-driven white wine.
Winemaking approach
Cercanome 2022 is vinified with minimal intervention. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in cement with indigenous yeasts, without temperature control, to highlight freshness and varietal identity. Aging on fine lees for 7 months adds body and complexity while preserving aromatic vibrancy. Clarification is by natural settling, filtration is sterile, and SO₂ addition is minimal (<30 mg/L) at bottling. Contains sulfites.

Tomassetti – Winery in Le Marche
Winery history
The story of the Tomassetti Winery is rooted in a family agricultural tradition with a deep connection to the land and the province of Ancona. Originally dedicated to producing high-quality extra virgin olive oil, the estate has long been a reference point in the Marche region. In 2015, brothers Andrea and Matteo Tomassetti, after following different training paths, decided to breathe new life into the family business, transforming it into a project that combines roots and innovation. Their choice was to continue their agricultural journey with an artisanal and sustainable vision, avoiding the use of chemicals.
Vineyard philosophy
Work in the vineyards follows a biological and environmentally respectful philosophy, aiming to maintain soil fertility and plant vitality without forcing. The Tomassetti brothers manage old vineyards of Trebbiano, Verdicchio, and Sangiovese, native varieties that strongly represent the Marche winemaking heritage. By intervening as little as possible and respecting the natural rhythms of the vine, they obtain healthy, balanced grapes capable of fully expressing the character of the territory.
Cellar approach
In the cellar, the same principles of coherence and authenticity are applied: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, vinifications that respect the characteristics of each grape variety, and minimal intervention. The goal is to produce wines that are a true expression of the vineyard and terroir, telling the story of Le Marche in all its richness and diversity. Respect for the raw material and the decision to avoid invasive practices give Tomassetti wines personality and natural authenticity.
Territory and identity
The estate’s vineyards extend over 4.5 hectares, located across the municipalities of Senigallia, Trecastelli, Corinaldo, and Terre Roverasche. This area stretches from the Colli di Jesi to Pesaro, also encompassing the production zone of Bianchello del Metauro. The winery thus represents a synthesis of belonging and identity, born from love for the land and transformed into wines that combine tradition, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
