Vien Make 2021 – Granja Farm
Overview
Vien Make 2021 is a mountain white wine full of life and character, born from the ancient Bianchello del Metauro grape.
Made by Granja Farm in the rugged Alta Val di Susa, it undergoes a 20-day skin maceration in stainless steel, with spontaneous fermentation and no added sulfites.
A natural and sincere expression of alpine viticulture — wild, mineral, and beautifully alive.
Origin and Philosophy
Granja Farm is a small organic farm located in Chiomonte (Turin), at the heart of the Alps.
Here, vines are cultivated on steep stone terraces with no chemicals, following ancestral farming methods.
Vien Make reflects the farm’s philosophy: respect for nature, independence, and resistance against industrial agriculture.
It’s a wine that speaks the language of its land — pure, rustic, and unfiltered.
Winemaking and Ageing
The Bianchello del Metauro grapes are hand-harvested and macerated on their skins for 20 days in stainless steel tanks.
Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, at natural temperatures and with no added sulfites.
After pressing, the wine rests on its fine lees for several months before being bottled unfiltered.
A raw and honest process that preserves the energy and integrity of the fruit.
Tasting Notes
Bright golden-yellow in color, slightly hazy as a mark of authenticity.
On the nose, aromas of dried herbs, orange zest, wildflowers, and ripe apricot emerge.
The palate is textured, mineral, and slightly tannic, with great depth and persistence.
A vibrant, living wine with mountain soul.
Food Pairing and Serving
Excellent with aged cheeses, spicy dishes, mountain cuisine, or grilled fish.
Serve at 12–14°C. Evolves beautifully in bottle for up to 4 years.

Granja Farm: A Mountain Organic Farm in the Upper Susa Valley
History and Geographical Context
Granja Farm was founded in 2015 in Chiomonte (Turin), in the heart of the Alta Val di Susa, by a group of people determined to care for a rugged territory at risk of destruction in the name of progress. The project began by reclaiming abandoned lands, vineyards, meadows, and gardens to produce healthy and genuine food responsibly. The Susa Valley, located west of Turin, has always been a natural route to France — from Roman times to Hannibal — and today it has tragically become a dangerous passage for migrants crossing the mountains.
Philosophy and Production Principles
The philosophy of Granja Farm is rooted in sustainability and the preservation of rural memory. The farm cultivates ancient native grape varieties on centuries-old stone terraces nestled into the mountainside, practicing agriculture without pesticides or herbicides. Every task respects the natural cycles of the land, guided by the wisdom of local elders — the last keepers of an immense agricultural heritage. For Granja Farm, farming is a political act of resistance, opposing a system that exploits both people and nature for profit.
Production and Farm Management
Beyond viticulture, Granja Farm embraces a holistic approach that includes beekeeping, goat herding, horses, and poultry, all managed through sustainable and self-sufficient practices. The main vineyards and cellar lie within the red zone of the TAV (Turin–Lyon) construction site, yet determination and perseverance have allowed them to continue producing uncontaminated fruit. The farm stands as a symbol of environmental and cultural resilience, protecting seeds, stories, and agricultural traditions handed down through generations.
Vision and Future
Granja Farm strongly rejects GMOs, TEA, and NBT/NGT technologies, defending the biodiversity and genetic heritage of its land. Its goal is to safeguard natural food production and autonomy, cultivating the earth with respect, awareness, and responsibility. Every bottle, every jar, and every product tells the story of a living resistance — a commitment to a more sustainable and conscious future.
