Non Tradition 2023: Natural Grüner Veltliner by Christian Tschida
Wine Story
“Non Tradition 2023” comes from two single vineyards of Grüner Veltliner in Burgenland, Austria: one on calcareous soil, the other on a steep schist slope, both southeast-facing by Lake Neusiedlersee. Fermented separately, the wines are blended into a single expressive wine, offering a multi-layered and multidimensional tasting experience.
Vineyard Philosophy
The vineyards are naturally and sustainably farmed, respecting terroir expression. Hand-harvesting and separate vinification preserve each plot’s unique character, while the southeast exposure enhances aromatic intensity and balanced ripeness.
Winemaking
Whole clusters are pressed, fermented, and aged in large used barrels, with no additions, fining, or filtration. The final blend enhances the synergy of the two plots, creating a richer, more enveloping wine. A classic case where 1+1 equals 3.
