Nieder-Flörsheim “Frauenberg” Spätburgunder Trocken 2022 Keller
Overview
The Nieder-Flörsheim “Frauenberg” Spätburgunder Trocken 2022 Keller is a Pinot Noir of rare elegance, born from one of the most prestigious crus of Rheinhessen. The calcareous-clay soils of Frauenberg give the wine depth, freshness, and minerality, while the meticulous work of the Keller family ensures complexity and refinement. The 2022 vintage offered generous ripening conditions, producing a wine that combines structure, intensity, and grace.
History
Frauenberg, located in Nieder-Flörsheim, has long been recognized for its high-quality vineyards. Since 1789, the Keller family has cultivated this site with care, respecting both tradition and terroir. The 2022 vintage reflects the authentic essence of German Pinot Noir, marked by both refinement and power.
Vineyard Philosophy
Cultivation at Frauenberg follows sustainable and artisanal methods, with manual care and strict grape selection. The calcareous and clay-rich soils allow Pinot Noir to develop its complex aromas and refined structure, ensuring only the best clusters contribute to this wine.
Winemaking Approach
Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts and spontaneous processes, followed by maceration on the skins to extract color, aroma, and fine tannins. Aging takes place in oak barrels, partly new and partly used, enhancing complexity and elegance without masking the fruit. Minimal sulfite use preserves the wine’s purity.
Tasting Notes

Nose: elegant bouquet of ripe cherry, raspberry, and red currant, with floral tones, sweet spices, and subtle oak hints.
Palate: dry, silky, and refined, with velvety tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral finish true to Frauenberg’s terroir.

Perfect with roast poultry, light game dishes, mushroom risotto, and aged cheeses. A superb match for refined French and German cuisine.
