Mietitore Trebbiano – Tomassetti Winery
Overview
Mietitore Trebbiano is a white wine from the Marche region, classified as Marche IGT Bianco. Made from 100% Trebbiano grown on 40-year-old vineyards rooted in calcareous and clay soils, it reflects an authentic and natural approach. Farmed under organic and biodynamic practices, and vinified with artisanal care, this wine delivers freshness, depth, and territorial character. Contains sulfites.
Wine history
The Mietitore project was created by brothers Andrea and Matteo Tomassetti to showcase the potential of Trebbiano, a historical grape of Marche often underestimated. By recovering these family vineyards, they crafted a white wine that honors rural memory while elevating the varietal’s expressive power.
Vineyard philosophy
The grapes come from a one-hectare vineyard averaging 40 years of age, planted in calcareous and clay soils. Cultivation follows organic and biodynamic methods, respecting biodiversity and the natural environment. Manual harvesting ensures only the best, fully ripe grapes are selected, reinforcing the authenticity of the final wine.
Winemaking approach
About 25% of the mass undergoes a 7-day skin maceration, adding structure and aromatic complexity. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, followed by 7 months of aging on fine lees. Clarification occurs naturally, filtration is minimal (>3 microns), and a modest amount of SO₂ (35 mg/L) is added only at bottling. Contains sulfites.
Tasting notes
Color: deep straw yellow with golden hues.
Nose: ripe fruit, white flowers, mineral hints, and delicate spice notes.
Palate: fresh and enveloping, with balanced structure, vibrant sapidity, and a persistent finish.
Food pairings
Excellent with structured seafood dishes such as fish soups and shellfish, as well as white meats, semi-aged cheeses, and vegetarian recipes with legumes or seasonal vegetables.

Tomassetti – Winery in Le Marche
Winery history
The story of the Tomassetti Winery is rooted in a family agricultural tradition with a deep connection to the land and the province of Ancona. Originally dedicated to producing high-quality extra virgin olive oil, the estate has long been a reference point in the Marche region. In 2015, brothers Andrea and Matteo Tomassetti, after following different training paths, decided to breathe new life into the family business, transforming it into a project that combines roots and innovation. Their choice was to continue their agricultural journey with an artisanal and sustainable vision, avoiding the use of chemicals.
Vineyard philosophy
Work in the vineyards follows a biological and environmentally respectful philosophy, aiming to maintain soil fertility and plant vitality without forcing. The Tomassetti brothers manage old vineyards of Trebbiano, Verdicchio, and Sangiovese, native varieties that strongly represent the Marche winemaking heritage. By intervening as little as possible and respecting the natural rhythms of the vine, they obtain healthy, balanced grapes capable of fully expressing the character of the territory.
Cellar approach
In the cellar, the same principles of coherence and authenticity are applied: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, vinifications that respect the characteristics of each grape variety, and minimal intervention. The goal is to produce wines that are a true expression of the vineyard and terroir, telling the story of Le Marche in all its richness and diversity. Respect for the raw material and the decision to avoid invasive practices give Tomassetti wines personality and natural authenticity.
Territory and identity
The estate’s vineyards extend over 4.5 hectares, located across the municipalities of Senigallia, Trecastelli, Corinaldo, and Terre Roverasche. This area stretches from the Colli di Jesi to Pesaro, also encompassing the production zone of Bianchello del Metauro. The winery thus represents a synthesis of belonging and identity, born from love for the land and transformed into wines that combine tradition, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
