Meursault 1er Cru Charmes Vieilles Vignes 1913 – 2018
Over a century of heritage in a white wine of remarkable depth
Vineyard philosophy
The Charmes climat is already renowned, but this parcel takes it to another level: the vines were planted in 1913, making them among the oldest still producing in Meursault. François Mikulski farms them organically (uncertified), treating them with reverence and intervening only when truly needed. The 2018 vintage, warm and generous, allowed for naturally concentrated grapes while maintaining freshness and balance.
Winemaking approach
The winemaking is focused on precision and preserving the vineyard’s voice: spontaneous fermentation in oak (20% new), 12 months of aging in barrels, followed by 6 months in stainless steel. The result is a Meursault of measured power, tension and mineral length, built to age with grace.
Tasting notes
Intense golden yellow with topaz reflections.
Rich aromas of ripe orchard fruit, candied orange peel, salted butter, acacia honey and flint.
On the palate, it is dense, layered and saline, with great energy and a lingering mineral finish.

Domaine François Mikulski
Natural elegance and Burgundian precision in Meursault
Located in the heart of Meursault, Domaine François Mikulski has become one of the most respected and sought-after names in the Côte de Beaune. Founded in the early 1990s, the domaine reflects François Mikulski’s personal vision—rooted in discretion, perfectionism, and a deep reverence for Burgundian terroir.
A vineyard philosophy that listens to the land
In Mikulski’s vineyards, every action is guided by a single principle: respect for the living soil and the unique voice of each parcel. The estate’s vines—spread across Meursault, Puligny, Volnay, Pommard, and Monthélie—are farmed using organic practices (not certified by choice), with light touch vineyard work, minimal copper, and an obsessive attention to vine health. The goal is never to force, but to accompany—François and his son Jules observe and adapt, always letting nature lead.
In the cellar: discipline and restraint
The winemaking is a natural extension of the vineyard work: discreet, focused, and minimalist. Fermentations are spontaneous, bâtonnage is rare, and new oak is used judiciously—rarely more than 20%. Each lieu-dit is vinified separately to preserve its identity. The resulting wines are models of clarity, freshness, verticality, and precision, never chasing opulence, but rewarding those who appreciate finesse.
