Meursault 2015 – Coche-Dury
A warm vintage for a rich, precise, and deeply territorial white
Coche-Dury’s Meursault 2015 reflects the generosity of a warm vintage, interpreted with the balance and finesse typical of one of Burgundy’s most iconic producers. A village wine with notable depth, playing on both tension and substance, with a slightly more mature profile than later vintages but without compromising elegance. Though not from Premier Cru parcels, it delivers an outstanding experience.
Winemaking approach
Vinified in the traditional Coche-Dury style: spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in French oak barrels (pièces), moderate bâtonnage, followed by 18 months of ageing in oak (around 30% new). Bottled without fining or filtration.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay
Tasting notes
Colour
Bright golden yellow with light amber highlights.
Nose
Broad and mature, showing toasted hazelnut, quince, candied lemon peel, sweet spices, and a hint of smoky minerality. Fascinating and layered evolution.
Palate
Creamy, concentrated, and rich, yet vibrant in freshness. Striking balance between roundness and tension. Long, saline finish with buttery and almond notes.
Food pairings
Ideal with grilled lobster, sole meunière, risotto with porcini, scallops on Jerusalem artichoke cream, noble shellfish, cheese fondue and aged soft cheeses.

Coche-Dury
The Burgundy Icon That Defined the Style of Chardonnay
Coche-Dury is widely regarded as one of the most legendary names in the Côte de Beaune and across Burgundy. Based in Meursault, the domaine cultivates some of the most revered Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards, crafting wines of unparalleled purity and exceptional aging potential. Founded in the early 20th century, the estate rose to prominence under Jean-François Coche and is now run by his son Raphaël, who continues the house style with precision and integrity.
Philosophy
Vineyard work is meticulous and entirely manual, with very low yields and a deep respect for the soil. Treatments are kept to a strict minimum, reflecting a sustainable approach, though the estate is not certified organic. Harvesting is done by hand with rigorous grape selection.
In the cellar, white wines ferment and age in Burgundy oak barrels, with carefully controlled bâtonnage and a notable use of new wood (up to 50% for top crus). The red wines, though less known, are elegant and age-worthy, undergoing whole-cluster fermentation and long aging periods. Every detail is crafted to perfection, resulting in wines that are both artisanal and precise.
Vineyards
Coche-Dury owns around 10 hectares, with vines in Meursault (including renowned lieux-dits like Perrières, Genevrières, and Chevalières), Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie, Volnay, and the Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne. The vineyard age is high, and the viticulture is intensive and manual.
Wine Style
Coche-Dury’s Meursaults are unmistakable: structured, deeply mineral, and cut with razor-sharp freshness. The nose is striking, offering notes of hazelnut, flint, citrus, and butter, while the palate is tense, saline, and impressively long. The reds from Volnay and Monthelie are equally refined, fruit-pure, and built for the long haul.
A Rare Gem
Coche-Dury wines are among the most sought-after in the world. Production is tiny, demand is huge, and every bottle represents the pinnacle of authentic, handcrafted Burgundy.
