Grigio in Grigio 2020
Overview
Grigio in Grigio 2020 is a natural white wine produced by Bressan in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Made entirely from Pinot Grigio, this rare wine is produced only in selected vintages, offering aromatic intensity, full body, and complex taste. It represents the authentic expression of the grape and the terroir, crafted with an artisanal, nature-respecting approach. Ideal for natural wine enthusiasts seeking structure, elegance, and depth.
Origin and Philosophy
Grigio in Grigio is born from the desire to create a unique, terroir-driven wine, respecting the natural cycles of the vine. The late harvest in mid-October with overripe grapes ensures elevated aromatic concentration. In both vineyard and winery, nature is paramount: no chemical interventions, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and aging on its own lees. The artisanal philosophy aims to convey terroir, authenticity, and varietal identity in every bottle.
Winemaking
The grapes are destemmed and spontaneously fermented on the skins for about 4 weeks, followed by 7 months of maceration before racking. The wine then ages in untasted cherry and wild pear barrels, where it develops on its fine lees. No filtration is performed, preserving aromatic integrity and texture. Only 1,500 bottles are produced, making Grigio in Grigio an exclusive and collectible wine.
Tasting Notes
Grigio in Grigio 2020 shows a bright golden reflection. The nose opens with delicate fruit and floral notes, alongside subtle minerality and spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, structured, and savory, with fine elegance and a persistent finish. The wine’s concentration and depth reflect the true character of Pinot Grigio and the Friulian terroir.
Pairings and Service
Pairs beautifully with savory fatty fish, white meats, and lightly spiced Asian dishes, and is also ideal as a contemplative wine. Serve chilled at 10–12 °C in large glasses to enhance aromas and structure. Contains sulfites.

Bressan – Farra d’Isonzo (Gorizia)
History and Tradition
The Bressan family embodies one of the purest and most uncompromising expressions of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s winemaking heritage. Located in Farra d’Isonzo, in the heart of Gorizia province, the estate stands as a symbol of integrity, passion, and resistance to modern conformity. Passed down through generations, Bressan’s philosophy rejects industrial shortcuts and technological manipulation, preserving the true identity of the wine. Every bottle is the result of ancestral wisdom, patience, and total devotion to the land — a living tribute to authenticity and craft.
Philosophy in the Vineyard
In the vineyard, Bressan follows an extremely strict and personal natural philosophy, based on manual labor and complete respect for the vine’s natural cycles. All tasks, from pruning to training, are performed by hand. Massal selection of vines is used, excluding clones and any genetically modified organisms. Only indigenous Friulian varieties are cultivated, ensuring that every plant remains true to its origin. No chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides are ever used, and irrigation is strictly forbidden, since water dilutes the essence of the wine. This discipline gives Bressan’s wines their unmistakable depth and authenticity.
Approach in the Cellar
The Bressan cellar is a sanctuary of purity and minimal intervention. Grapes are harvested manually at full ripeness and vinified using traditional techniques. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, driven solely by native yeasts present on the grape skins, without any synthetic additives or industrial yeasts. Sulfur dioxide is added only in minimal amounts at bottling, remaining within the strictest organic standards. The wines age on their fine lees until bottling, without filtration, preserving their natural richness, texture, and vitality. Every process follows the rhythm of time, allowing each wine to express its full truth and individuality.
The Bressan Identity
What makes Bressan unique is not only its method but its spirit: a refusal of standardization and a celebration of freedom in winemaking. Each bottle is a living entity, with its own character and evolution. The 20 hectares of vineyards are divided across distinct parcels, each with its own soil composition and microclimate, contributing to the remarkable complexity of the wines. Bottling and labeling are done entirely by hand, using natural single-piece corks, ensuring that each wine has its perfect guardian through time. Bressan stands as a beacon of authenticity, craftsmanship, and cultural resistance.
