Glacier 2021: Vallée d’Aoste D.O.C. Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle Metodo Classico Pas Dosé
Vineyard philosophy and grape variety
Glacier 2021 comes from heroic vineyards between 900 and 1,200 meters above sea level, where Prié Blanc piede franco thrives ungrafted in pure alpine air. These mountain terraces, surrounded by glaciers and rocks, offer a unique microclimate for slow, balanced ripening. This extreme viticulture tells a story of purity, resilience and the timeless dedication of Cave Mont Blanc’s vignerons.
Winery approach and Metodo Classico
In the cellar, Glacier 2021 is crafted with care to highlight the true nature of Prié Blanc. The first fermentation takes place in large larch-oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. Secondary fermentation happens in the bottle following the Metodo Classico Pas Dosé, with no added sugar, preserving the grape’s natural freshness. Aged for 30 months on the lees, it achieves great finesse, complexity and a persistent perlage.
Tasting notes
The color is straw yellow with greenish highlights and fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, it is elegant and mineral, with refined, lasting aromas. On the palate, it is dry, subtle and crisp, showcasing its clear alpine identity.

Cave Mont Blanc: The Winery at the Foot of Mont Blanc
History
Founded in 1983 from the ashes of the “Association des Viticulteurs,” established thanks to the commitment of Father Don Bougeat and the collaboration of local vignerons, Cave Mont Blanc represents the revival of winemaking in the Aosta Valley at the foot of Mont Blanc. This alpine reality has succeeded in restoring once-abandoned vineyards, strengthening the centuries-old tradition of alpine villages and enhancing a unique territory made of rock, pure waters, and winter frost.
Vineyard Philosophy
The native grape variety, grown between 900 and 1,200 meters altitude on mountain terraces, thrives in heroic conditions requiring deep dedication and full respect for the morphology of the land. Cave Mont Blanc’s vineyard philosophy is based on valuing the alpine terroir, where man and nature coexist in symbiosis, highlighting aromas, nuances, and flavors that tell the poetry and identity of this land.
Winery Approach
Equipped with a technologically advanced facility, the Morgex winery produces about 140,000 bottles annually thanks to the work of about 80 members. The winery’s approach aims to preserve the integrity and uniqueness of the wine through careful vinification techniques that maintain the grape’s aromas and characteristics intact. The balance between tradition and innovation allows the wines to express the culture, tenacity, and elegance of the Aosta Valley mountains.
