Georgie 2022: natural white Umbria IGT with character
Wine Overview
Georgie 2022 is a Umbria IGT Bianco, crafted from 50% Trebbiano Toscano and 50% Malvasia. Produced naturally and with a limited edition of only 1,600 bottles, this wine reflects the balance between freshness, aromatic complexity, and the mineral imprint of clay-limestone soils. A white of authentic Umbrian tradition, reinterpreted with artisanal care.
Wine History
Georgie 2022 represents Lumiluna’s passion for enhancing native white grapes of Umbria. Manual harvest and spontaneous fermentation allow Trebbiano and Malvasia to merge in a unique style: a wine that captures both the body and structure of Trebbiano and the fragrance and elegance of Malvasia.
Vineyard Philosophy
Cultivation is natural, with no synthetic chemicals, focusing on biodiversity and healthy soils. The 28-year-old vines, rooted in clay and limestone soils, provide grapes rich in freshness and aromatic potential.
Cellar Approach
The Trebbiano is destemmed and pressed, followed by 10 days of maceration. As fermentation begins, the Malvasia must is added, initiating a slow and balanced integration. The wine rests on its lees for 7 months, gaining texture, depth, and aromatic intensity. Georgie 2022 is unclarified, unfiltered, and produced with minimal SO₂.

Lumiluna: the winery between tradition and innovation
The history of Lumiluna
Lumiluna was born in Mercatello from the deep friendship between Luca Bigicchia and Giulio Rinaldi, two young entrepreneurs who chose to continue their family agricultural tradition. Their passion led them to restore old vineyards through manual pruning and careful soil care. In 2015, they began their adventure in their free time, working “by moonlight,” which inspired the winery’s name. 2017 marked a turning point: from a few hundred bottles, they expanded production thanks to acquiring additional vineyard hectares, and in 2018 their own winery was completed, strengthening their presence in the region.
The vineyard philosophy
Lumiluna’s vineyards, trained in guyot, double inverted, and cordon speronato, spread over a 20 km radius south of Perugia, across the hills surrounding Mercatello. They currently manage 15 diverse plots, with soils ranging from clay to limestone, from galestro to clay-skeleton mixtures, offering extraordinary mineral complexity. Vines aged 20 to 65 years allow cultivation of grapes such as Trebbiano, Grechetto, Malvasia di Candia, Syrah, Sangiovese, and Ciliegiolo, aiming to produce elegant and refined wines without synthetic substances.
The cellar approach
In the cellar, Luca and Giulio follow an artisanal approach, with controlled fermentations and minimal interventions that respect the natural expression of the grapes. Every step is personally supervised, from cluster selection to aging in barrels and tanks of various materials. This method highlights vineyard biodiversity and wine aromatic complexity, ensuring authentic products true to the territory.
Lumiluna’s identity and creativity
Lumiluna is more than wine; it is a cultural project combining tradition, sustainability, and creativity. Every year, two or three new labels are added to the base range, inspired by songs listened to during the harvest, a crucial moment for defining the wines. This philosophy gives the labels unique personality, making Lumiluna a young winery capable of telling deep stories through its work. Respect for the land, combined with the founders’ passion, makes every bottle an experience of taste and culture.
