Fricò 2022 – Tomassetti Winery
Overview
Fricò 2022 is a distinctive white wine from the Marche region, classified as Marche IGT Bianco. It blends Trebbiano (80%), Verdicchio (15%), Malvasia, and Moscato (5%) from a one-hectare vineyard averaging 55 years old. Farmed under organic and biodynamic practices, it undergoes natural winemaking and concrete aging, resulting in an authentic, fresh, and vibrant expression of the land. Contains sulfites.
Wine history
The Fricò project was created to honor agricultural tradition and the varietal richness of historic mixed vineyards in the Marche. Brothers Andrea and Matteo Tomassetti revived these old plots to craft a wine that preserves the memory of rural landscapes while respecting nature. Fricò 2022 embodies belonging, heritage, and artisanal sensitivity.
Vineyard philosophy
The grapes grow in sandy soils of fluvial origin, farmed without chemicals and with a focus on biodiversity. With vines averaging 55 years of age, cultivation follows organic and biodynamic principles. Manual harvesting ensures only healthy, mature clusters are selected, enhancing authenticity and terroir-driven intensity.
Winemaking approach
Fricò 2022 is crafted through spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and a short cap-rise maceration of 2–3 days. The wine is aged for 7 months in concrete tanks on fine lees, gaining depth and texture. Clarification occurs naturally by settling, filtration is minimal (>3 microns), and SO₂ is kept below 30 mg/L, added only at bottling. Contains sulfites.

Tomassetti – Winery in Le Marche
Winery history
The story of the Tomassetti Winery is rooted in a family agricultural tradition with a deep connection to the land and the province of Ancona. Originally dedicated to producing high-quality extra virgin olive oil, the estate has long been a reference point in the Marche region. In 2015, brothers Andrea and Matteo Tomassetti, after following different training paths, decided to breathe new life into the family business, transforming it into a project that combines roots and innovation. Their choice was to continue their agricultural journey with an artisanal and sustainable vision, avoiding the use of chemicals.
Vineyard philosophy
Work in the vineyards follows a biological and environmentally respectful philosophy, aiming to maintain soil fertility and plant vitality without forcing. The Tomassetti brothers manage old vineyards of Trebbiano, Verdicchio, and Sangiovese, native varieties that strongly represent the Marche winemaking heritage. By intervening as little as possible and respecting the natural rhythms of the vine, they obtain healthy, balanced grapes capable of fully expressing the character of the territory.
Cellar approach
In the cellar, the same principles of coherence and authenticity are applied: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, vinifications that respect the characteristics of each grape variety, and minimal intervention. The goal is to produce wines that are a true expression of the vineyard and terroir, telling the story of Le Marche in all its richness and diversity. Respect for the raw material and the decision to avoid invasive practices give Tomassetti wines personality and natural authenticity.
Territory and identity
The estate’s vineyards extend over 4.5 hectares, located across the municipalities of Senigallia, Trecastelli, Corinaldo, and Terre Roverasche. This area stretches from the Colli di Jesi to Pesaro, also encompassing the production zone of Bianchello del Metauro. The winery thus represents a synthesis of belonging and identity, born from love for the land and transformed into wines that combine tradition, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
