Overview
The Ciapè Colli Tortonesi Cortese 2024 by Valli Unite is a pure, refreshing white wine from the hills of Costa Vescovato, in Piedmont. Made from 100% Cortese grapes, it is fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel, preserving freshness and precision. With total sulphur below 40 mg/l, it reflects the cooperative’s natural philosophy of transparency, authenticity and vitality.
Wine History
The Ciapè Colli Tortonesi Cortese 2024 was created as a tribute to the rural culture of the Tortona hills. Its name, “Ciapè”, comes from the local dialect, symbolizing conviviality and simplicity. The 2024 vintage embodies balance and natural energy, showcasing the traditional Cortese grape in its most genuine form. The result is a bright, crisp and expressive wine, true to its Piedmontese roots.
Philosophy in the Vineyard
The Cortese vines grow on organic-certified clay-limestone soils between 250 and 300 meters above sea level. Sustainable methods include home-produced compost and green manuring with legumes to enrich soil life. No herbicides or synthetic products are used, and harvesting is done by hand. Each grape reflects the cooperative’s belief that great wine starts in a living vineyard.
Winemaking Approach
The Ciapè Colli Tortonesi Cortese 2024 undergoes spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and matures on fine lees in stainless steel for several months. No fining or filtration is applied, keeping its natural purity intact. With total sulphur under 40 mg/l, the wine remains lively, clear and naturally stable. It is an authentic, mineral and vibrant expression of the Cortese variety.

Valli Unite
History and Origins of Valli Unite
Founded in 1981 in Costa Vescovato, a small village in the province of Alessandria, Valli Unite was born from the vision of three young farmers who decided to join forces and create an independent and cooperative farming community. Over time, that small group has grown into nearly forty members, all sharing a common ideal that goes beyond winemaking — a true cultural and human alliance. Surrounded by the rolling hills of the Tortona area, the cooperative has built its identity on agricultural independence, respect for nature, and collective work, establishing itself as a reference point for sustainable viticulture in Piedmont.
Philosophy in the Vineyard
On its 100 hectares of land, of which 22 are dedicated to vines, Valli Unite cultivates Barbera, Timorasso, Croatina and other local varieties following a strictly organic approach. The estate includes a farm with livestock, which provides natural fertilizer for the fields, ensuring the fertility and vitality of the soil. Green manures composed of leguminous herbs enrich the land and promote biodiversity. Each vineyard is tended by hand, with minimal intervention, allowing the vines to express their true character and the landscape to retain its natural balance.
Winemaking Approach
The cellar of Valli Unite is a place where wine is guided, not manipulated. Fermentations occur without selected yeasts, letting indigenous microorganisms reveal the identity of the grapes and the land. Sulphur dioxide is added only in very low quantities (less than 40 mg/l) to preserve the wine’s vitality and purity. The goal is to produce a living, evolving wine, one that changes over time and reflects the rhythm of nature. Every technical choice is guided by patience, intuition, and deep respect for the raw material.
A Community and Cultural Project
Today, Valli Unite is much more than an agricultural cooperative — it is a self-sufficient rural community that combines viticulture, animal farming, food production, and hospitality. The estate is home to vineyards, gardens, and animals, all managed by people who share the same values of sustainability, solidarity, and simplicity. Wine is just one expression of a broader way of life — a philosophy that connects land and culture, embodying the authenticity of Piedmont’s countryside.
