Chianti Classico 2022 by Pazzi tells about a territory
From the hills of Tolena, Tuscany, comes this Chianti Classico 2022 signed by Azienda Agricola Pazzi. A pure Sangiovese that expresses with authenticity the vocation of the area and the identity of the vine.
The vines, planted about 20 years ago at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level, yield healthy and rich clusters, vinified without forced intervention. Fermentation is spontaneous, activated by indigenous yeasts, followed by maceration on the skins for three weeks. After racking, the wine ages for 18 months in steel, followed by a few months’ rest in the bottle before release.
Chianti Classico 2022 price and value beyond time
When one asks “Chianti Classico 2022 price” or “How much does a bottle of Chianti cost in 2022?”, the answer lies not only in the figure, but also in the work behind it. Pazzi’s signature article is not a simple vintage label, but the result of a patient and conscious process, free of shortcuts.
The choice of aging in steel for over a year and a half keeps the purest expression of the fruit alive, giving a crisp and vibrant sip, without masking. The absence of wood enhances the matter, while resting in the bottle refines its traits, making it already ready but also suitable for interesting evolution in the coming years.
What’s the difference between Chianti and Chianti Classico?
The distinction between Chianti and Chianti Classico is substantial: the latter is born in a more restricted and historically vocated area, with stricter production rules. Pazzi’s product, belonging to this appellation, comes from a hilly micro-area that maximizes the elegance of Sangiovese.
Compared to generic Chianti, the balance between acidity, structure and tannin is more defined. A fine, consistent profile emerges here: notes of ripe red fruits blend with hints of underbrush, earthy hints and floral hints of small red flowers. All framed by a fresh, round, savory mouthfeel with precise, never intrusive tannins.
How many years does a natural Chianti Classico like this last
While already enjoyable today, this Chianti Classico 2022 has an evolutionary perspective of at least 6-8 years. The natural winemaking, combined with the purity of the fruit and the absence of wood, gives it a freshness and depth that can only be enriched over time.
The well-integrated tannins support the structure without stiffening it, while the savoriness accompanies a long, harmonious finish. Served between 18° and 20°C, it is perfect paired with traditional Tuscan dishes, especially Chianina meat , braised meats, or dishes with herbs and mushrooms.
A territorial, direct and authentic red that tells the story of Tuscany with precision and spontaneity. Pazzi’s signature 2022 vintage reveals how Sangiovese, vinified in purity and respected at every stage, can still surprise with elegance and tension.

Castellina in Chianti, Tuscany
The Pazzi winery was founded in 1950 thanks to the efforts of Marcello, who was 13 years old at the time, and his family, who in that very year moved to Tolena, a hamlet of Castellina in Chianti, from the Marche region. A few years later the Pazzi family acquired what is now the estate where they began making wine.
Marcello and his wife Adriana until 2016 produced wine in bulk, but then when the reins of the company passed into the hands of Gabriele, the son, and Daniele, the grandson, that’s when horizons began to broaden and ambition to grow.
That ambition that leads in 2020 to the realization of Gabriele’s dream of bottling his own wine.
The winery can count on 3 hectares planted with vines, cared for maniacally, from the bunch to the bottle. From the selection of the best grapes comes a territorial and delicious Chianti Classico, ready to impress.
