Chambertin Grand Cru “Cuvée du Chêne” 2021 – Laurent Ponsot
Overview
The Chambertin Grand Cru “Cuvée du Chêne” 2021 by Laurent Ponsot is a Pinot Noir that combines strength and refinement, embodying the spirit of the Côte de Nuits. Originating from one of Burgundy’s most prestigious vineyards, this cuvée expresses balance, elegance, and authenticity, shaped by the cooler, delicate vintage of 2021. Lower yields contributed to a wine with precision, aromatic finesse, and excellent aging potential. Contains sulfites.
Wine History
The cuvée is named after the majestic oak tree that overlooks the Chambertin vineyard, a symbol of deep roots and continuity. The 2021 vintage was marked by climatic challenges, including spring frosts and a mild summer, which demanded careful vineyard management. Laurent and Clément Ponsot transformed these difficulties into an opportunity, producing a wine that faithfully reflects its terroir with freshness and purity.
Vineyard Philosophy and Winemaking
The vineyards are cultivated without systemic chemicals, with minimal intervention to preserve natural balance. The 2021 harvest was carried out by hand, with an even stricter selection due to low yields. In the cellar, Laurent Ponsot’s philosophy of “haute couture winemaking” guided each step: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, precise temperature control, and aging in French oak barrels. The use of the ArdeaSeal closure prevents premature oxidation and ensures a long aging capacity in the bottle.

The project is both a Domaine, with 7 hectares of vineyards in prestigious areas, and a Maison de Négoce, selecting top-quality grapes to craft refined cuvées. With more than 26 Burgundy appellations produced, this new chapter quickly became a global benchmark, thanks to Laurent’s modern vision and meticulous attention to detail.

Every step is meticulously monitored: from temperature control of cases to authenticity codes protecting against counterfeits. This precision guarantees bottles that reach consumers in flawless condition, faithfully expressing their origin.
