Blanco 2023 – Tantaka Wines
Vineyard philosophy and terroir expression
Made from 100% Hondarrabi Zuri in the Arrastaria Valley (Álava), Blanco 2023 is grown naturally on calcareous-alluvial soils at altitude. Hand-harvested grapes, controlled yields and artisanal farming highlight the identity of Txakolí de Álava, producing a wine with verticality, freshness and aromatic clarity.
Winemaking and Lees ageing
Spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by 5 months on fine lees, without fining or filtration. This natural method enhances varietal expression and structure, giving purity and a surprising mouthfeel.
Tasting notes
Bright straw yellow with green reflections. Aromas of citrus, fruity and balsamic notes. On the palate it’s full-bodied, with gentle acidity, subtle bitterness, and persistent clarity.
Pairing and ageing potential
Perfect with seafood, shellfish, paella and flavorful white meats, also excellent as a structured aperitif or vegetarian savory dishes. Serve at 10–12 °C with minimal aeration to preserve balance.

Tantaka – Txakolí from Álava
Producer: Juanjo Tellaetxe – Arrastaria Valley, Álava, Basque Country
A natural, authentic, radically local project
Founded in 2017 by Juanjo Tellaetxe, priest and vigneron, Tantaka was born to revive the family vineyards in Artomaña, in the heart of the Arrastaria Valley. This is the coolest, most mountainous area of the D.O. Arabako Txakolina (Txakolí from Álava), where Juanjo works with minimal intervention and full respect for the land.
High-altitude vineyards and native grapes
The vines grow between 250 and 330 meters above sea level, surrounded by forests and Atlantic winds. The soils are alluvial with clay and limestone. Grapes include Hondarrabi Zuri, Petit Corbu, and Riesling, with small plots of Hondarrabi Beltza, all farmed organically and manually.
Spontaneous fermentation, no shortcuts
Harvest is done by hand, in small crates, with rigorous selection. After gentle pressing, fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Aging continues on the fine lees for several months, with no fining or heavy filtration.
Wine as a reflection of place
Tantaka wines express the Basque landscape with tension, freshness, minerality, and verticality. No forced sparkle, no aromatic tricks – just pure, artisanal and identity-driven wines, deeply rooted in their origin. Production is intentionally small, aimed at those seeking real, living wines.
