Zvari Rkatsiteli 2022
The charm of a Georgian skin-contact white
The Zvari Rkatsiteli 2022 comes from vines grown on dark clay and sandstone soils, with very low yields of around 30 hl/ha. The harvest is done entirely by hand to ensure only the best bunches are selected. The grapes are destemmed, and half undergo gentle skin maceration for about two weeks with daily punch-downs. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by full malolactic fermentation. The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined to keep its genuine character intact.
Vineyard philosophy
The vineyards are farmed naturally and sustainably, respecting soil balance and biodiversity. Low yields ensure concentrated grapes full of complex aromas.
Winemaking approach
Vinification aims to preserve the natural essence of the Rkatsiteli grape. Gentle processing, partial skin contact, spontaneous fermentation, no filtration or fining. The result is a lively, vibrant, authentic wine.

Okro’s Wines
The Story and Soul of Okro
Okro’s Wines is a landmark Georgian winery for those seeking truly authentic natural wines, produced with traditional methods but a contemporary vision. Founded by John Wurdeman and Gela Patalishvili, it is located in Sighnaghi, in the heart of Kakheti, Georgia’s historical wine region.
Okro’s was born with the mission to revive ancient qvevri winemaking (terracotta amphorae buried underground) and to protect native grape varieties and a unique, uncontaminated terroir.
🌿 Vineyard Philosophy
In the vineyards, Okro’s practices certified organic farming, rejecting synthetic fertilizers and chemical pesticides. The vines grow on hillsides about 700 meters above sea level, in clay and limestone soils that give the wines structure and minerality.
Everything is done by hand — pruning, tending, and harvesting — always respecting the natural balance of the vines. Harvesting is timed with the seasons and never forced.
🍷 Winemaking Approach
The cellar is the beating heart of Okro’s Wines: fermentation happens with native yeasts, without filtration or fining, and with minimal or no added sulfur. Grapes are vinified in traditional qvevri, with long skin contact and natural aging before bottling.
This approach creates authentic, complex wines that can be rustic but are always alive, with deep aromas and remarkable aging potential.
