Saperavi Rcheuli Qvevri 2017 – Tchotiashvili
Ancient Craft in the Vineyard
Tchotiashvili Winery is deeply rooted in Georgia’s ancestral winemaking culture. The Saperavi Rcheuli Qvevri 2017 comes from carefully tended old vines in the Kakheti region, where the Saperavi grape is cultivated organically and harvested by hand with strict selection. Respect for biodiversity and minimal intervention define the philosophy in the vineyard.
The Art of Qvevri Winemaking
In the cellar, Tchotiashvili remains faithful to ancient Georgian methods. The whole grape bunches ferment and macerate for several months in buried clay Qvevri, where the wine develops its unique character naturally, without added yeasts or modern biotechnologies. The result is a robust, authentic Saperavi with outstanding structure and great aging potential.
Color: Deep, intense ruby. Nose: Ripe black fruit, wild berries, light notes of spice and earthy undertones. Palate: Full-bodied, complex, balanced by firm tannins and refreshing acidity.

Vineyard Philosophy
Tchotiashvili Winery is located in the heart of Kakheti, Georgia’s most renowned wine region, guardian of an ancient winemaking tradition rooted in qvevri fermentation. The Tchotiashvili family works exclusively with native grape varieties, cultivated with natural and sustainable methods, keeping yields very low to harvest healthy, concentrated, top-quality grapes. Harvesting is done strictly by hand, selecting only the best bunches to fully express the richness of the Caucasus terroir.
Winemaking Approach
In the cellar, Tchotiashvili Winery combines ancient knowledge of qvevri fermentation — large terracotta amphorae buried underground — with precise control of every production step. Wines ferment spontaneously with no added commercial yeasts and mature slowly on the skins for months, developing remarkable complexity, structure and elegance. Minimal intervention ensures the purest expression of the grapes and their native land. The result is authentic, age-worthy wines that tell the story and soul of Georgian viticulture.
