Volnay Village 2023
Pure Burgundian elegance, without compromise
Volnay Village 2023 is a refined and vibrant Pinot Noir from the esteemed Volnay appellation in the Côte de Beaune. A wine that captures the grace of authentic Burgundy, made with respect for terroir and a focus on delicacy and clarity in winemaking. A red crafted with precision, combining aromatic finesse with linear structure.
Vineyard and cellar philosophy
Sustainable viticulture, manual work, low yields. Grapes are hand-harvested with careful sorting. Fermentation is spontaneous in open-top vats with around 12 days of maceration. The wine ages for 10 months in 228-liter oak barrels, mostly used, to let the terroir speak.

100% Pinot Noir
Colour
Bright, transparent ruby red.
Nose
Elegant aromas of cherry, redcurrant, violet, and dried rose. Subtle spice and forest floor hints complete the bouquet.

Domaine Javillier
Pure craftsmanship in the Côte de Beaune
Domaine Javillier is located in Meursault, at the heart of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. At the helm is Patrick Javillier, a discreet but deeply respected figure in the wine world, known for his artisanal, precise, and tradition-driven approach. After studying oenology in Dijon and working in the family vineyards, Patrick gradually built a micro-domaine now totaling just over ten hectares, spread across Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, and Pernand-Vergelesses.
Precision and consistency as philosophy
Javillier’s philosophy is grounded in a pragmatic and respectful vision, starting in the vineyard and culminating in careful winemaking, always aiming for balance between structure and freshness. The vineyard work is sustainable, with minimal systemic treatments and a strong focus on soil vitality. Harvesting is manual, with strict grape selection.
Winery style: clarity and terroir expression
In the cellar, Patrick works with technical discretion, letting the terroir speak. His Meursault wines are known for their precision, mineral tension, and aging potential. The white wines ferment in oak barrels (new wood used in moderation) and age on fine lees with restrained bâtonnage. The reds, though fewer, are classically vinified, with no excessive extraction. The goal is always expressive transparency, never power for its own sake.
A philosophy of silent elegance
Javillier is one of the most underrated yet essential voices in classic Burgundy: no excess, no trend-chasing, just consistent, thoughtful work. His wines stand out for their finesse, integrity, and depth, with excellent aging potential but also surprising drinkability in their youth.
