Original, authentic and deeply rooted in its terroir, Trebbiano Altre Terre is a skin-contact white wine that interprets Trebbiano through a contemporary vision, highlighting aromatic complexity, freshness and remarkable personality.
Overview
Agricolavinica – Le Colline di Ripa Trebbiano Altre Terre is a white wine made from Trebbiano grapes grown in some of the coolest and most suitable areas of Molise. This project was created with the intention of exploring alternative expressions of the variety, emphasising its authentic character through a winemaking process that includes extended skin contact. The result is a wine with a strong identity, capable of combining aromatic complexity, vibrant energy and exceptional drinkability. Altre Terre represents a modern and personal interpretation of Trebbiano, where tradition and experimentation coexist in perfect balance.
History of the Wine
Trebbiano Altre Terre was born from Agricolavinica – Le Colline di Ripa’s continuous pursuit of unconventional interpretations of traditional grape varieties. The objective is to highlight the expressive potential of Trebbiano through a winemaking approach that enhances both complexity and terroir character. The wine tells a story of altitude, balance and respect for the raw material, offering a perspective that differs from more classical interpretations of the variety. The 2021 vintage fully embodies this philosophy, resulting in a wine that is original, vibrant and rich in nuance.
Vineyard Philosophy
The grapes come from vineyards approximately fifteen years old, located at an altitude of 700 metres above sea level on clay-limestone soils. The vines are trained using the Guyot system and managed with a restrained yield of around 60 quintals per hectare, a choice that encourages aromatic concentration and balanced vine growth. The altitude and significant day-to-night temperature variation help preserve acidity, freshness and aromatic complexity. Vineyard management is focused on respecting the terroir and enhancing the most authentic characteristics of the fruit, allowing the wine to express its place of origin with precision.
Winemaking and Ageing
After crushing, the must remains in contact with the skins for approximately six days in stainless steel tanks. During this period, spontaneous fermentation also takes place, contributing additional complexity to the wine’s aromatic profile and structure. The skin maceration allows the extraction of aromas, texture and a delicate tannic component that defines the palate. Once fermentation is complete, the wine continues its ageing exclusively in stainless steel, a choice that preserves freshness, aromatic precision and expressive transparency.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Bright and luminous orange-yellow, a distinctive sign of skin contact and the wine’s unique personality.
Nose: Intense and layered aromas of herbal infusions, tea blends, ginger, apple cider and dried apricots. An original and captivating aromatic profile that continues to evolve in the glass.
Palate: Fresh, savoury and dynamic. A subtle tannic texture provides structure and depth without compromising fluidity and drinkability. The finish is long and persistent, marked by elegant citrus and spice-driven notes.
Food Pairings
Trebbiano Altre Terre pairs beautifully with structured vegetarian dishes, medium-aged cheeses, Asian cuisine and flavourful fish preparations. Its tannic character and lively savouriness also make it an excellent match for white meats, spiced dishes and Mediterranean recipes. It can also be enjoyed on its own thanks to its aromatic complexity and ability to evolve in the glass. This is a versatile and gastronomic wine capable of impressing both at the table and during dedicated tastings.
