Picpoul Croix Neuves 2024
Wine Overview
Picpoul Croix Neuves 2024 is a white wine from Languedoc that clearly expresses the character of 100% Piquepoul. Produced in a coastal-influenced area near the Étang de Thau, it captures the saline freshness and vibrant acidity typical of this terroir. The 2024 vintage stands out for its precision and aromatic clarity, offering a clean and approachable yet technically refined profile. Its identity is built on freshness, drinkability, and mineral tension. This is a wine designed for the table but with strong territorial definition. The structure is linear and focused. It highlights purity and balance. A crisp, saline and highly precise Picpoul.
Wine History
Picpoul is one of the historic grape varieties of southern France, traditionally cultivated in coastal Languedoc areas where maritime influence enhances its natural acidity. Its name reflects its signature sharp freshness, making it a classic pairing for oysters. Croix Neuves 2024 follows this tradition while embracing a modern, clean style. The protected designation of origin ensures its strong connection to terroir. The 2024 vintage benefited from favorable climatic conditions that preserved freshness. The wine is crafted with a focus on simplicity and clarity. It reflects the sea through its structure and salinity. Its identity remains deeply rooted in the region.
Vineyard Philosophy
The vineyards are located between Pinet and Beauvignac on limestone soils with north-south exposure, ensuring balanced ripening. The Mediterranean climate is moderated by sea breezes from the Étang de Thau, contributing to the wine’s saline freshness and aromatic precision. Vines aged between 20 and 25 years are trained in bush vines. No leaf removal or green harvesting is carried out, preserving natural balance. Yields are limited to around 40 hl/ha to ensure concentration and uniform ripening. Harvesting is mechanical and carefully timed. The goal is to preserve freshness and aromatic integrity. The vineyard management enhances mineral expression.
Winemaking Approach
After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and directly pressed to maintain aromatic purity. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for three months to retain freshness and clarity. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally, softening acidity while preserving structure. No fining is applied, and the wine is filtered at 1 micron. Sulfites are added minimally (3 g/hl) only at bottling. The approach is precise yet non-invasive. The result is a clean, vibrant, and expressive wine.
Tasting Notes and Pairings

Nose: delicate floral notes, fresh citrus, and saline hints reminiscent of sea breeze.

Les Costières de Pomérols – Beauvignac (The Terroirs Project)
Project History
Les Costières de Pomérols, through its collaboration with Les Vignerons de Beauvignac, is part of The Terroirs Project initiated by Eric Narioo (Les Caves UK), with the goal of highlighting accessible wines produced with a low-intervention approach. The project aims to connect international markets with cooperative wineries deeply rooted in the terroir of southern France. The Beauvignac cooperative is a historic structure in the Languedoc, where viticulture is part of the social and agricultural fabric. This initiative brings together a modern commercial vision and local cooperative tradition. The goal is to enhance wines often considered “bulk” through better selection and a more precise winemaking philosophy. The result is an accessible yet more refined wine style. The project represents collaboration, territorial reinterpretation, and value enhancement of growers’ work. A modern model of cooperative winemaking focused on quality.
Vineyard Philosophy
The vineyard philosophy is based on sustainable farming practices and, where possible, organic viticulture, aligned with The Terroirs Project vision. Vineyards are located in the Languedoc, an area characterized by strong sunshine, constant winds, and diverse soils, all contributing to balanced viticulture. The work is carried out by members of the Beauvignac cooperative, following shared agricultural practices aimed at reducing environmental impact. The focus is on vine health and vegetative balance, with careful and targeted interventions. Yields are managed to balance quantity and quality. Harvesting is done at optimal ripeness to preserve freshness and drinkability. Grape varieties reflect the Mediterranean identity of southern France. The aim is to obtain healthy, consistent grapes suitable for an immediate yet distinctive wine style.
Winemaking Approach
In the cellar, the Les Costières de Pomérols – Beauvignac project follows a technical but low-intervention approach, consistent with The Terroirs Project philosophy. Grapes from cooperative members are carefully selected and vinified separately to preserve parcel identity. Fermentation takes place under controlled conditions, with temperature management ensuring aromatic purity. Winemaking technology is used to guarantee stability and consistency without overworking the wine. Aging is mainly carried out in stainless steel to preserve freshness and fruit expression. The goal is to produce clean, accessible, and immediately enjoyable wines with a recognizable territorial character. The cooperative structure ensures consistency and continuity. The result is a balanced style between cooperation and targeted quality selection.
Identity, Terroir and Vision
Les Costières de Pomérols – Beauvignac represents a modern model of evolved cooperative winemaking, where collective work is reinterpreted through a more quality-driven vision. The Terroirs Project aims to promote authentic, accessible wines rooted in the Languedoc region. The result is a style that combines immediacy and identity, maintaining a strong connection to local agricultural reality. The contribution of Eric Narioo and Les Caves UK is key in positioning these wines in an international market focused on drinkability and transparency. The cooperative becomes a tool for territorial expression rather than mass production. The wine expresses the Mediterranean character of southern France in a direct and honest way. All wines contain sulfites.
