Mindy 2023: Natural and Lively Rosato Frizzante Umbria IGT
Wine Overview
Mindy 2023 is a Rosato Frizzante Umbria IGT, born from the union of Syrah and Grechetto, two varieties capable of delivering freshness, vibrancy, and character. Produced in just 1,600 bottles, this wine stands out for its natural approach, free of fining, filtration, and added sulfites, offering an authentic and dynamic sip. With its light effervescence and straightforward nature, Mindy 2023 is the perfect choice for those seeking a contemporary, versatile sparkling rosé full of personality.
Wine History
The Mindy project was created with the intention of interpreting Syrah in a new way—fresh, convivial, and approachable—while combining it with the tradition and aromatic finesse of Grechetto. The 2023 harvest featured carefully hand-picked grapes from vineyards aged 18 to 40 years, located in different plots with diverse soils. This combination resulted in a sparkling rosé that tells the story of Umbria in an original and innovative style.
Vineyard Philosophy
The vineyards dedicated to Mindy 2023 are cultivated following a natural approach, without the use of synthetic chemicals. The Syrah parcels grow on stony soils, providing structure and minerality, while the Grechetto thrives on clay, contributing balance and delicate aromatics. Manual vineyard management and attentive soil care guarantee healthy, expressive grapes—essential for producing a natural sparkling wine of authenticity and liveliness.
Winemaking Approach
Mindy 2023 is vinified in stainless steel, where the Syrah ferments spontaneously, respecting natural rhythms. Later, dried Grechetto grapes are added to trigger the second fermentation, giving the wine its fine and natural sparkle. Ageing continues directly in the bottle, with no fining or filtration, preserving the purity of the fruit. No added sulfites complete the profile of a wine defined by transparency and authenticity.

Lumiluna: the winery between tradition and innovation
The history of Lumiluna
Lumiluna was born in Mercatello from the deep friendship between Luca Bigicchia and Giulio Rinaldi, two young entrepreneurs who chose to continue their family agricultural tradition. Their passion led them to restore old vineyards through manual pruning and careful soil care. In 2015, they began their adventure in their free time, working “by moonlight,” which inspired the winery’s name. 2017 marked a turning point: from a few hundred bottles, they expanded production thanks to acquiring additional vineyard hectares, and in 2018 their own winery was completed, strengthening their presence in the region.
The vineyard philosophy
Lumiluna’s vineyards, trained in guyot, double inverted, and cordon speronato, spread over a 20 km radius south of Perugia, across the hills surrounding Mercatello. They currently manage 15 diverse plots, with soils ranging from clay to limestone, from galestro to clay-skeleton mixtures, offering extraordinary mineral complexity. Vines aged 20 to 65 years allow cultivation of grapes such as Trebbiano, Grechetto, Malvasia di Candia, Syrah, Sangiovese, and Ciliegiolo, aiming to produce elegant and refined wines without synthetic substances.
The cellar approach
In the cellar, Luca and Giulio follow an artisanal approach, with controlled fermentations and minimal interventions that respect the natural expression of the grapes. Every step is personally supervised, from cluster selection to aging in barrels and tanks of various materials. This method highlights vineyard biodiversity and wine aromatic complexity, ensuring authentic products true to the territory.
Lumiluna’s identity and creativity
Lumiluna is more than wine; it is a cultural project combining tradition, sustainability, and creativity. Every year, two or three new labels are added to the base range, inspired by songs listened to during the harvest, a crucial moment for defining the wines. This philosophy gives the labels unique personality, making Lumiluna a young winery capable of telling deep stories through its work. Respect for the land, combined with the founders’ passion, makes every bottle an experience of taste and culture.
