Mannaja Cane 2020
An authentic red rooted in Calabria
Mannaja Cane 2020 is one of the first wines produced by the young winery Regina del Quartuccio, based in the heart of Tuscia in the Viterbo area. Its name recalls the Calabrian roots of Remo Bartolomei’s father, a tribute to family heritage and the strong values behind this project. This red wine fully embodies the artisanal and natural spirit of the winery: straightforward, sincere and expressive of its territory.
Vineyard philosophy
The grapes come from vineyards planted on volcanic soils, a hallmark of Tuscia that imparts minerality and a fine, balanced tannic structure. The vineyard is carefully managed by hand, without synthetic chemicals and with a focus on preserving biodiversity. Harvest is manual, selecting only the healthiest bunches to guarantee a natural balance of ripeness and acidity.
Winery approach
In the cellar, Mannajacane 2020 is vinified according to a low-intervention philosophy. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts and carried out in neutral containers to preserve the wine’s fruit purity. It is aged for a few months before bottling, without filtration or fining, keeping all its energy and territorial expression intact.
Tasting notes
Color: Bright ruby red with violet reflections, typical of young wines.
Nose: Fresh red fruit aromas, floral notes and subtle hints of aromatic herbs.
Palate: Crunchy, fresh and linear, with delicate tannins, lively acidity and a savory finish that invites another sip.
Ideal pairings
Mannajacane 2020 pairs beautifully with simple, wholesome Italian dishes: artisanal cured meats, tomato-based pasta dishes, grilled white meats or rustic pizzas. Best served at 14–16 °C, slightly chilled during warmer months.

Regina del Quartuccio – Natural Winery of Tuscia
A young winery with deep roots
The Regina del Quartuccio winery was founded in 2020 by Remo Bartolomei, a young winemaker who grew up among the vineyards of Tuscia, in the Viterbo area. The project was born in the land of his origins and is deeply connected to his family history: as a child, Remo experienced harvest time as a moment of collective celebration, a ritual that brought together relatives and friends around homemade wine. This spirit of sharing and authenticity is now the beating heart of the winery, which produces wines that tell the true essence of the territory.
The name and the production philosophy
The name Regina del Quartuccio is not only a reference to the area of origin but also a tribute to Remo’s mother, who was affectionately known by this nickname in the family. The encouragement of friends from Il Vinco was crucial to starting the official production. From the beginning, the production philosophy has been clear: natural, genuine wines with a strong identity, made from grapes cultivated without compromise and vinified with minimal intervention.
Vineyards and low-intervention winemaking
The grapes come from vineyards of native varieties planted on volcanic soils, a distinctive characteristic of the Tuscia area. This unique soil gives the wines minerality, tension, and aromatic complexity. In the cellar, fermentations are spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, no additives are used, and the wines follow a natural evolution without forced techniques or aggressive filtrations. The goal is to listen to the grapes and the territory, guiding them without altering their identity.
Wines as expressions of the territory
The first wines released by the winery perfectly represent this philosophy. “Est/Remo”, a white wine that reinterprets Lazio’s traditional blends in a personal way, is fresh, territorial, and versatile. “Mannajacane”, a direct and vibrant red, carries the Calabrian roots of Remo’s father in its name and style. Each new label is conceived to be authentic and artisanal, capable of conveying emotions and telling the story of Tuscia and its people. Regina del Quartuccio is not just a winery but a small world where memory, passion, and respect for the land intertwine.
