Sand on Schist 2018, Chenin Blanc
A fresh style of chenin with plenty of lemons, limes and yellow peaches. From vineyards of the 1940s, at first glance it is almost a classic wine until you notice that hint of fresh and tasty creaminess on the palate, perfect for balancing an engaging expressive severity. Crazy on shellfish and seafood, exceptional wine. Potential for evolution in the bottle which could also surprise thanks to the crown cap closure.
Fayrygarten Shiraz 2018
An unusual version of Shiraz, light and lively. The grapes come from a vineyard grown without irrigation by Ralph Woods in Clarendon. Wine produced without the aid of any additive or adjuvant. Notes of cranberries, strawberries and something similar to kombucha.
Tikka 2020, Shiraz 80%, Grenache 20%
The two grapes are harvested in the same period and vinified together as a whole bunch in carbonic maceration. Refines in used 320 liter wooden barrels. The nose is an explosion of blackcurrants, blackberries, pepper and thyme. Medium-bodied with acidity that guides the sip, supported by a lively minerality. Leaves a very pleasant aftertaste of dark chocolate.
