Cornelissen is a Belgian winemaker, in 2001 he undertook this new experience on the slopes of Etna, then an area far from the many spotlights that he has now rightly received.
The company is located in the northern valley of what is the largest emerged volcano in Europe, and is considered on a par with Cote de Nuits or Barolo (and neighboring ones), for production quality and results.
Franckcurrently has around 24 hectares, of which 13 of old vineyards in the classic Alberello layout, 9 of old vineyards transformed into modern rows of various widths, then olive trees and fruit trees.
No interventions of any kind are carried out in the vineyard and in the surrounding lands, industrial fertilizers are not used and, as far as possible, plowing is avoided. Copper sulphate and sulphur, in any case permitted by natural practice, within certain quantities, are necessary to prevent the plant from dying, as was the case in 2013 and 2015.
The yields are very low, from 300g to 600g per plant, the quality is very high.
