Val di Sole – Elektra 2023
An aromatic and full-bodied skin-contact white
Elektra 2023 is a skin-contact white of extraordinary expressiveness, combining elegance, structure, and freshness. Its full body comes from grapes sourced from 75-year-old vineyards planted on deep clay soils rich in minerals, imparting tension and character. Spontaneous fermentation in 500 L oak and acacia barrels and 9 months of skin maceration give the wine aromatic complexity, depth, and a distinctive identity. Elektra 2023 is not only a wine to enjoy but a sensory journey that reflects the Roero terroir and ValdiSole’s artisanal philosophy.
Terroir, vineyards and production philosophy
The grapes come from ancient vineyards over 75 years old, cultivated naturally without synthetic chemicals or pesticides. The clay soils provide minerality, structure, and expressive power. Manual harvest on September 12 ensures only the healthiest, most mature grapes are selected. ValdiSole’s philosophy combines tradition and innovation: spontaneous fermentation, long maceration, and minimal manipulation allow the wine to fully express the unique Roero character without enological forcing.
Vinification and aging
Fermentation occurs spontaneously, utilizing native yeasts present on the grapes and in the winery environment. During 9 months of maceration in 500 L oak and acacia barrels, Elektra 2023 develops intense aromas, full-bodied texture, and extraordinary complexity. After maceration, the wine rests 45 days in stainless steel before bottling. The wine is unfiltered and unfined, with minimal sulfur addition (20 mg/L) to preserve purity, integrity, and authenticity.
Tasting profile
In the glass, Elektra 2023 shows a brilliant golden yellow, intense and luminous. The nose reveals complex aromas of white flowers, ripe yellow fruit, subtle spices, and light toasted hints from barrel fermentation. On the palate it is full-bodied, enveloping, and fresh, with a vertical, dynamic, and sapid sip, where elegance blends with the wild traits of the ancient grapes. The finish is long, harmonious, and leaves a lasting impression of complexity and purity.
Food pairings
Elektra 2023 pairs beautifully with rich and complex dishes such as structured fish, shellfish, aromatic risottos, elaborated white meats, and hard cheeses. Its freshness and aromatic complexity also make it ideal as a contemplative wine or for gourmet tasting moments, surprising and delighting your guests.

ValdiSole Winery
History
Founded in 2015 on the Roero hills in Corneliano d’Alba, in the heart of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, ValdiSole Winery is located in a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The winery began with a small abandoned Nebbiolo vineyard purchased online and has gradually expanded with both young and old vines. All vineyards are situated in the DOCG Roero area, primarily in the Valdistefano denomination, ensuring high-quality grapes and a strong connection to the territory.
Philosophy
ValdiSole follows strict natural practices, without synthetic chemicals or enological forcing. The winery’s philosophy emphasizes authenticity and essentiality, using only the grape as the core ingredient. Wines are produced in a style that blends regional tradition with innovative techniques adapted from other parts of the world, resulting in distinctive aromas, colors, and profiles.
Wine Characteristics
ValdiSole wines are notable for their intensity and complexity, with colors and aromas that can be unconventional. The winery places special focus on orange wines, produced from white grapes fermented with skin contact. This traditional method, lasting from a few days to several months, imparts amber color, structure, aromatic complexity, and enhanced longevity to the wine.
Production and Methods
Grapes used for orange wines and other ValdiSole labels are carefully selected from minimally treated vineyards. Skin contact maceration and aging in selected vessels (stainless steel, cement, or clay amphorae) ensure wines that are intense, long-lasting, and faithful to both nature and terroir.
Vision
ValdiSole represents a contemporary and visionary approach to winemaking in Roero. The winery combines tradition, sustainability, and experimentation, producing wines that express the territory, the grape, and the company’s philosophy, delivering an authentic and distinctive experience to wine enthusiasts.
