Novy Saldorf, Moravia, Czech Republic
Dobra Venice is a wonderful company in Moravia, we can undoubtedly consider it among the pioneers of the global natural wine movement, and it is truly a pleasure to boast it in the catalogue.
There are 16 hectares of vineyards spread between the villages of Popice and Konice near Znojmo, along the Pod Lesem and Kraví hora wine routes.
The vineyards are all located in the Podyjí National Park and have an unmistakable character given by the specific Paleozoic subsoil (quartz, quartz sand, clay, granite, gneiss, flint).
It is the only mountain of vineyards dating back to the Paleozoic in all of Moravia.
No chemistry between the rows, 100% organic fertilizers are used, such as Nettle or Horsetail extracts, horse or cow manure.
The varietal composition, the pedoclimatic conditions of this area best correspond to the company’s ideas of good grapes for wine production.
The main varieties grown are Müller Thurgau, Riesling, Riesling, Veltlin Green, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir.
The vineyards are approximately 35 years old. We only planted Pinot Noir in 2017.
and grow on the south-eastern slopes, from 280 to 320 m above sea level.
The fertility of vine bushes is strictly regulated below 60 q/ha (normally less than 40 h/ha). All work with the vine as well as the harvest is done by hand.
The ripeness of the grapes is determined not only by the sugar content, but by the actual (oenological) maturation of all the components of the grape: i.e. sugar content, acidity content, composition and maturation of the tannins and components of the bouquet (stones, skins, etc. .)Yeasts and lactic ferments come from their vineyards.
