Violet, ripe Cassis and ground black pepper

“Valvigères is a village apart, in the Ardèche. Apart, not only for the charm of its landscape, its wild nature but also because you already have to come there “on purpose”, and when you live there, you feel good, protected , sheltered from the city world.

Valvignères is located in the heart of a valley (vallis vinaria, in Roman times: the valley of the vine), as if preserved from the whims of the sky and the unleashing of men!! Even though the climate there is mild to live in and the biodynamics are quite simple to follow, the soil has not always been easy to work and still isn’t: with clays you have to calculate the right time to avoid compacting the soil. .

The older we get, the more we realize that nature does things well and even better!! We have evolved over time and have come closer to the idea that making wine, being winemakers, is not simply working your vines, harvesting your grapes and making your wine.

We have chosen to adopt biodynamics; this allowed us to understand what influence and what weight “Nature” had on everything that surrounds us and how much we had to protect it in order to bequeath to our children a healthy and rich land on which they can live in health.” Hélène and Christophe COMTE
