Corton Grand Cru “Le Rognet” 2023 – Méo-Camuzet
Burgundy Pinot Noir from Corton Grand Cru: elegance, freshness and precision in the 2023 vintage
The Corton “Le Rognet” 2023 represents the ideal meeting point between power and precision. In a vintage marked by rapid ripening and excellent grape health in Burgundy, Méo-Camuzet crafts a Pinot Noir of remarkable energy and definition, combining elegance with early approachability. The wine clearly expresses the character of one of the finest climats on the northern slope of Corton, with a vibrant and contemporary profile.
In the vineyard: a warm yet well-balanced vintage
The 2023 vintage was characterized by warm conditions and a relatively early harvest, with generally favorable weather throughout the growing season. The Le Rognet vineyards, located between 280 and 330 meters above sea level, benefited from ideal south-eastern exposure and deep limestone soils, helping preserve freshness and balance. The grapes reached full phenolic ripeness while maintaining good acidity, thanks to careful yield management and selective hand harvesting.
In the cellar: precision and respect for the fruit
In the cellar, Méo-Camuzet follows a philosophy focused on purity and finesse. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts, alongside carefully managed maceration to enhance elegance and tannic precision. The wine is aged in oak barrels for approximately 17–18 months, with around 50% new oak, adding complexity without overshadowing the terroir.

Domaine Méo-Camuzet
The soul of Vosne-Romanée, between tradition and precision
Located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of the most iconic and refined estates in Burgundy. The domaine’s history is deeply linked to the Camuzet family and the legacy of Henri Jayer, a legendary figure in modern winemaking. Today, under the direction of Jean-Nicolas Méo, the estate combines Burgundian heritage with contemporary precision, always rooted in the vineyard.
Vineyard philosophy: balance and respect
The domaine covers about 17 hectares, including prestigious plots such as Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot, Échezeaux, Corton, and numerous Premier Cru and Village vineyards across Vosne, Nuits, and Marsannay. The viticulture is sustainable, with no formal certifications but a strong pragmatic and non-intrusive approach.
Vineyard work is gentle and adapted to each plot: light soil tilling, manual harvesting with strict selection, and minimal use of synthetic treatments. The focus is not on the aesthetics of organics but on true terroir expression.
Winemaking: elegance without compromise
The cellar at Méo-Camuzet is discreet, designed to enhance purity and structure. Fermentations are spontaneous, with indigenous yeasts, and macerations are gentle, respecting the fruit’s integrity.
New oak use is balanced, from 30% to 80% depending on the cuvée, and chosen for finesse and integration. No fining or filtration is applied. The wines are aged on fine lees for 15 to 20 months, gaining depth and definition over time.
Méo-Camuzet wines are refined, tactile, and age-worthy. They don’t chase power, but rather precision, aromatic finesse, and mineral tension, offering some of the purest expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Burgundy.
