Corvagialla Rosso Cereza 2019: volcanic elegance in pure Ciliegiolo
Rosso Cereza 2019 is Corvagialla’s refined take on Ciliegiolo, a grape often underestimated but here elevated to purity and depth. Grown on volcanic soils and aged 6 months in used barriques and another 6 in bottle, this wine delivers balance between softness and minerality. It’s a wine that tells the story of a place, revealing the strength of terroir through fruit, spice and stone.
Vineyard philosophy and cellar approach
Grapes are farmed naturally with minimal intervention, favoring biodiversity and soil vitality. In the cellar, the process is spontaneous and gentle: native yeast fermentation, no filtration, and aging in exhausted oak barrels that round the wine without masking its origin. The focus is on transparency and character, letting Ciliegiolo speak through the lens of volcanic soil.
Tasting notes
Color: deep ruby red with garnet highlights.
Nose: expressive and elegant, with notes of black cherry, sweet spices, a touch of boisé and flint.
Palate: medium to full-bodied, velvety and fresh, with marked minerality and a long, savory finish.
Food pairings
Perfect with rich meat-based pasta dishes like ragù, wild boar pappardelle or baked lasagna. It also pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, roasts and a selection of aged hard cheeses thanks to its balance of fruit and acidity.

Corvagialla: agricultural freedom and living wines from Alta Tuscia
Corvagialla is a small agricultural and wine estate located in Castiglione in Teverina, in the heart of northern Lazio’s Alta Tuscia. Here, not far from the Umbrian border, Tommaso Gallinari has created a rural project that is first and foremost a way of life. Corvagialla is a place to live and farm naturally, without forcing rhythms, in deep connection with landscape and time. Wine here is not a product, but an agricultural act—free, spontaneous, and tied to its soil.
Vineyard philosophy and winemaking approach
The vineyards grow on volcanic, tufaceous soils at around 450 meters above sea level. Farming is manual, with no chemical treatments, herbicides, or irrigation. Local varieties like Procanico, Malvasia, Verdello, and Ciliegiolo are grown alongside vegetables, fruit trees, olive groves, bees, and forest. Biodiversity is part of the project’s core, as is a vision of low-impact, respectful agriculture.
In the cellar, the process remains artisanal: spontaneous fermentation, no clarification or filtration, and zero additives. Wine matures in neutral materials such as concrete or fiberglass, preserving the grape’s integrity. Each wine is unique, shaped by the vintage, the parcel, and the hands behind it.
Style and identity
Corvagialla’s wines are vibrant, pure, and unconstrained. The whites—often with light maceration—are floral, saline, and vertical. The reds are lean, juicy, and bright. Their beauty lies in their sincerity and coherence with place. Corvagialla does not follow external trends, but builds itself slowly and thoughtfully, in rhythm with nature.
