Langhe Rosso Ansì 2022 – Casina Bric
A Langhe Rosso that brings together the elegance of Nebbiolo and the richness of Barbera in a carefully crafted blend designed to express the character of each vintage, offering aromatic depth, freshness and exceptional drinkability.
Overview
Langhe Rosso Ansì 2022 by Casina Bric is born from the union of two of Piedmont’s most representative grape varieties: Nebbiolo and Barbera. The purpose of this wine is to interpret each harvest through a balanced blend that enhances the unique qualities of each variety while preserving the territorial identity of the Langhe. The 2022 vintage stands out for its aromatic intensity, structure and harmony on the palate, delivering a profile characterized by vinous and fruity notes supported by refreshing acidity. Nebbiolo contributes elegance, depth and mineral tension, while Barbera adds softness, energy and aromatic complexity derived from oak ageing. The result is an authentic and versatile wine capable of accompanying a wide range of occasions while representing a modern interpretation of Piedmontese tradition. Contains sulfites.
History of the Wine
Ansì Rosso was created with the intention of highlighting two grape varieties that have historically played a central role in Piedmontese viticulture through an approach focused on balance and vintage expression. Casina Bric developed this project with the goal of producing a wine that is not simply a blend of varieties but rather a harmonious synthesis of their respective strengths. Nebbiolo forms the backbone of the wine thanks to its elegance and ageing potential, while Barbera contributes aromatic richness and vibrant freshness. The final blend is determined only after each wine has completed its individual maturation process, allowing the winery to identify the ideal balance for every vintage and create a wine that faithfully reflects the character of the growing season.
Vineyard Philosophy
The grapes used for Langhe Rosso Ansì come from vineyards cultivated in the hills of Piedmont according to a philosophy focused on quality and respect for varietal character. Each vineyard parcel is managed according to the specific requirements of Nebbiolo and Barbera, two varieties that differ in ripening cycles and agronomic behavior. Careful attention to grape health and optimal phenolic maturity ensures the production of high-quality fruit capable of supporting both extended macerations and prolonged ageing. The objective is to preserve the identity of each variety while guaranteeing the fullest expression of the territory in every bottle.
Winemaking Approach
Langhe Rosso Ansì 2022 is produced from a blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera, vinified separately in order to highlight their individual characteristics. Nebbiolo undergoes extended macerations followed by ageing in concrete tanks, a choice that preserves fruit purity and varietal precision. Barbera, on the other hand, matures in oak casks and smaller oak barrels for a period of 12 to 18 months, developing complexity, texture and depth. Only after their respective ageing periods are completed are the two wines blended in carefully selected proportions designed to express the character of the vintage at its best. The presence of oak-aged Barbera enriches the wine without ever overpowering the identity of Nebbiolo, maintaining balance, elegance and a clear sense of origin.
Tasting Notes
Color: deep and brilliant ruby red with vivid reflections that highlight youthfulness and concentration.
Nose: broad and expressive, featuring vinous notes, ripe red fruits, cherry, plum and subtle spicy nuances derived from the oak ageing of the Barbera component.
Palate: smooth and harmonious, supported by appealing salinity and refreshing acidity that bring energy to the palate and carry through to a persistent finish.
Food Pairings
Langhe Rosso Ansì 2022 is highly versatile at the table thanks to its balanced structure and natural freshness. It pairs particularly well with pasta dishes served with rich sauces, meat ragù, structured risottos and traditional Piedmontese recipes. It also finds excellent harmony alongside aged cheeses, premium cured meats and grilled meats. Its fresh and savory character helps cleanse the palate and enhance the aromatic qualities of food, making it an exceptionally versatile and enjoyable wine for a wide variety of dining occasions.
