Overview
Langhe Arneis Ansì 2023 by Casina Bric originates from the Croera vineyard, located in the municipality of Guarene d’Alba, one of the most highly regarded areas of the Roero for Arneis cultivation. This native Piedmontese grape variety finds ideal conditions in these hills to develop intense aromas, balance and ageing potential. The 2023 vintage expresses an Arneis of remarkable personality, characterized by generous structure and refreshing vitality that accompanies the tasting experience from beginning to end. The combination of terroir, careful vineyard management and precise winemaking results in a refined and authentic wine capable of fully expressing the character of the Roero. The outcome is a harmonious, savory and highly enjoyable white wine suitable for immediate enjoyment as well as positive medium-term ageing. Contains sulfites.
History of the Wine
Ansì was created with the goal of highlighting Arneis, one of Piedmont’s most representative white grape varieties. The Croera vineyard, located in Guarene d’Alba, offers particularly favorable pedoclimatic conditions for the production of high-quality white wines thanks to its excellent exposure and soils that promote balance and aromatic complexity. Casina Bric interprets this grape variety through a style that combines tradition and technical precision, preserving both its varietal identity and its deep connection to the territory. The objective is to produce an Arneis capable of expressing not only freshness and immediacy but also structure and ageing potential, qualities that make Ansì a distinctive wine within the Langhe appellation.
Vineyard Philosophy
The Croera vineyard is located in the heart of the Roero, a territory renowned for producing high-quality Arneis wines. Here, the vines benefit from a favorable microclimate characterized by good ventilation and significant day-to-night temperature variations that contribute to the development of aromatic complexity in the grapes. Vineyard management focuses on respecting the natural balance of the vines while enhancing the distinctive characteristics of the variety. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve freshness, aromatic intensity and fruit integrity. This approach allows for the production of fruit capable of faithfully expressing the Roero terroir and the unique qualities of Arneis.
Winemaking Approach
Langhe Arneis Ansì 2023 is produced from 100% Arneis using a winemaking process designed to preserve the grape’s aromatic purity. After destemming and crushing, the grapes undergo gentle pressing using a pneumatic press, a technique that allows delicate extraction of the juice while respecting the quality of the fruit. This is followed by cold settling and fermentation at a controlled temperature between 16 and 18°C for approximately 15 to 20 days. Once fermentation is complete, the wine remains for about six months in concrete tanks on its lees, with regular bâtonnage performed to enhance complexity, texture and overall harmony. This ageing process results in an Arneis that is structured, balanced and endowed with remarkable aromatic expressiveness.
Tasting Notes
Color: bright straw yellow with luminous reflections that highlight freshness and vitality.
Nose: intense and refined, with notes of fresh yellow fruit, floral hints and delicate mineral nuances that add depth to the aromatic profile.
Palate: smooth, balanced and savory, supported by refreshing acidity and a pronounced saline character that carries through to the persistent finish.
Food Pairings
Langhe Arneis Ansì 2023 is an exceptionally versatile wine at the table. It pairs beautifully with light appetizers, vegetables, salads and fish-based dishes from both freshwater and marine environments. Its freshness and salinity also make it an ideal aperitif wine, particularly when served alongside fresh and delicately flavored cheeses. It finds excellent harmony with shellfish, seafood and fish-based pasta dishes. Thanks to its balanced structure, it complements food without overwhelming it, delivering an elegant and highly enjoyable tasting experience.
