Burja Zorz is a red wine produced by Burja in Podnanos, in the Vipava Valley and obtained from pure Pinot Noir grapes harvested manually and coming from a 6000 meter plot rich in marl, sandstone and shale. Whole bunch, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maceration in steel, subsequent refinement in large Slavonian oak barrels for two years. Burja Zorz expresses woody aromas on the nose with hints of berries, floral and vegetal hints, dark and sweet spices; in the mouth it is warm, powerful, elegant and long. Try it with stewed meats!

  Zorz was Primoz’s grandfather, the grapes come from a microplot of 6000 square meters with old vines on soil rich in sandstone and marl alternating on a rock base. The fermentation is whole bunch, the refinement in 1,500 liter Slavonian oak barrels for at least a year and a half.

Pot pourri of red flowers, then ripe red fruits, mineral and vegetal notes, then dark spices

Powerful and warm, elegant and savory, the tannin is velvety and has an almost infinite length

The Lavrencic family has been producing wine since 1499, and now it is up to Primoz, the latest generation to carry on the family tradition. He does it in a way that he defines as modern and traditional, concepts that for him coincide.

Burja climbs between wind and rock, and sets some production rules that cannot be derogated from:

• Respect for local varieties
• Promote vineyard biodiversity
• Poor control in production processes
