VikeVike Granazza 2024 – Barbagia Bianco
A white of territory, rooted in tradition and new challenges
The VikeVike Granazza 2024 represents Simone Sedilesu’s dedication to giving new life to the rare native Granazza grape. For this vintage, the grapes come from carefully selected plots in Mamoiada, right in the heart of Barbagia. Here, the mountain climate and granite soils enhance the natural freshness of the variety. Each bottle tells the story of a proud region and a young winemaker who continues to experiment without ever betraying tradition.
Vineyard philosophy
The vines, with an average age of 50 years, are trained as low bush vines, an old method that protects the plants and ensures low yields, about 30 q/ha. Harvest takes place by hand in mid-September, with careful selection of only the best clusters. Farming is organic, with minimal intervention, allowing the vines and the land to speak. This results in grapes full of purity and vibrant aromas.
Winery approach
In the cellar, the VikeVike philosophy stays true: minimal interference. Fermentation is spontaneous in large 25 HL barrels, with no skin contact, to protect Granazza’s finesse. Pressing is gentle, extracting only the purest must. The wine matures for 7 months in wood and rests for at least 4 months in the bottle, gaining complexity and balance. The result is a white wine that captures the most genuine soul of Barbagia.
Colour: Bright straw yellow.
Nose: Aromas of wild herbs, fresh citrus, almond and subtle minerality.
Palate: Fresh, savoury, vertical, with a clean, lingering finish.

VikeVike Winery: Deep Roots in Mamoiada, Heart of Barbagia
The History
The VikeVike Winery was born from the passion for wine and the determination of Simone Sedilesu, a young winemaker raised among his family’s vines. Located in Mamoiada, a picturesque village in the heart of Barbagia, Nuoro province, the winery is a tribute to love for the land and respect for its unique territory.
Simone’s story has deep roots, shaped by generations of winemakers: knowledge and gestures passed down from his grandfather and father. After earning his degree in oenology and gaining international experience, Simone founded his own winery in 2015. This is how VikeVike was born — a name that in the local dialect means “Look Look”, an invitation to discover, be surprised, and be moved.
Vineyard Philosophy
“Wine is made in the vineyard.” This is the principle behind every vintage at VikeVike. Simone manages 4.5 hectares of vineyards, all rented, producing about 25,000 bottles each year. This flexible approach allows him to explore different expressions of “Ghiradas”, the vineyard parcels of Mamoiada, capturing new nuances of the territory every year.
Farming is strictly organic and sustainable, respecting the environment and local biodiversity. Harvesting is done by hand, ensuring only perfectly ripe and healthy grapes reach the cellar. Indigenous varieties, such as Cannonau and the rare Granatza, tell the authentic story of Mamoiada.
Winemaking Approach
Each plot is vinified separately to preserve its unique character. In the cellar, intervention is kept to a minimum: spontaneous fermentations, native yeasts, and no forced manipulation. Here, wine is guided, not altered.
Even for special cuvées, like the pure Granatza or blends with carefully selected purchased grapes, the goal remains the same: to craft genuine wines, capable of surprising and narrating an extraordinary land.
VikeVike is an invitation to discover: to pause, look, and taste. A sincere tribute to the identity of Mamoiada and to the passion of those who work the vineyards and cellar every day to make this unique corner of Sardinia shine.
