Corvagialla Ambar 2020: depth and minerality in a skin-contact white
Corvagialla Ambar 2020 is a skin-contact white wine made from a blend of Grechetto and Vermentino, macerated on the skins for 20 days. The wine then matures for 6 months in used barriques before bottling, allowing it to develop complexity while preserving freshness. A wine of great structure and expressive depth, Ambar reflects the natural soul of the vineyard and the quiet precision of the cellar.
Philosophy in the vineyard and winemaking style
At Corvagialla, the vineyard is cultivated with minimal intervention and deep environmental respect. Manual harvesting ensures that only the best grapes reach the cellar. Here, spontaneous fermentation and low-impact practices define the approach. No filtration, no additives—just patience and listening. The wine is shaped by time, not manipulation.
Sensory analysis
Colour: deep amber with copper hues, clearly revealing the extended skin contact.
Nose: complex and elegant, with dried flowers, spicy notes, and a touch of candied citrus peel.
Palate: structured and fresh, marked by vibrant acidity, strong minerality, and a long, savoury finish with floral and spicy echoes.
Food pairings
Ambar 2020 is a food wine par excellence. Ideal with white meats, rich fish dishes, aged cheeses, and complex preparations such as white ragù or mildly spicy recipes. Its tannic backbone and saline energy make it a great pairing for both traditional and contemporary cuisines.

Corvagialla: agricultural freedom and living wines from Alta Tuscia
Corvagialla is a small agricultural and wine estate located in Castiglione in Teverina, in the heart of northern Lazio’s Alta Tuscia. Here, not far from the Umbrian border, Tommaso Gallinari has created a rural project that is first and foremost a way of life. Corvagialla is a place to live and farm naturally, without forcing rhythms, in deep connection with landscape and time. Wine here is not a product, but an agricultural act—free, spontaneous, and tied to its soil.
Vineyard philosophy and winemaking approach
The vineyards grow on volcanic, tufaceous soils at around 450 meters above sea level. Farming is manual, with no chemical treatments, herbicides, or irrigation. Local varieties like Procanico, Malvasia, Verdello, and Ciliegiolo are grown alongside vegetables, fruit trees, olive groves, bees, and forest. Biodiversity is part of the project’s core, as is a vision of low-impact, respectful agriculture.
In the cellar, the process remains artisanal: spontaneous fermentation, no clarification or filtration, and zero additives. Wine matures in neutral materials such as concrete or fiberglass, preserving the grape’s integrity. Each wine is unique, shaped by the vintage, the parcel, and the hands behind it.
Style and identity
Corvagialla’s wines are vibrant, pure, and unconstrained. The whites—often with light maceration—are floral, saline, and vertical. The reds are lean, juicy, and bright. Their beauty lies in their sincerity and coherence with place. Corvagialla does not follow external trends, but builds itself slowly and thoughtfully, in rhythm with nature.
